soooooo glad to see this build!!!! this is what i loved about rc back in the day. alot of people had frogs, hornets/hoppers,and other offroad buggies set up with car or truck bodies. very cool

i'm looking for a picture for, i think, chris doeseck's pan car. if i remember right, it was in a 92 or 93 issue as a protoform ad. the body was mainly black, but had pink, blue, and green stripes down the sides. any help would be apprieciated.

I love vintage mag wheels and thought I'd clean up this set. I thought this set would have been a TON of work compared to wheels I've done in the past due to their poor conition.

I thought I'd try an aluminum dioxidizer and etching acid to clean...

I'm guessing vintage yokomo magnesium parts need to be treated with some care.
Does anyone have any advice for cleaning these bits up or are they best left as is, with a nice protective oxidised layer on the surface?

Years ago, I used a wire wheel and it gave the parts a nice look...a little on the shiny side. After a couple of months sitting in the basement, they had a white film on them because the newly poured concrete vented a lot of moisture. I re-polished...

I've had this about eleven years now. This is the Pro hand wound version of the Spec 19 motor. These Quad Mag motors are really smooth to turn over by hand.
