Re: Super Champ (Fighting Buggy)
Hell has finally frozen over. At least people will finally be able to get reasonably priced bodies to replace all those broken and missing ones.

Where is this "$455" coming from? 38700 JPY is $370 US. Street price will be lower.

Re: Super Champ (Fighting Buggy)
Oh I see. Please don't go by the initial price posted by Tower when they first list a new Tamiya kit on their web site. It is, almost without exception, higher than the final price.
The price will settle down to around 68% of retail $523 which is $355, so call it $359.99 before coupons.
I'll order it when it drops.

I know what you mean! The Super Champ is my first real hobby grade RC vehicle and is special to me.dsmith wrote:yeah ...I like the sound of that better...me too.

If Tower doesn't lower the price for some reason, I'll get it from Banzai or Dinball or Stellamodels in Hong Kong if the total is cheaper including shipping.

Re: Super Champ (Fighting Buggy)
It looks like it's coming with a grey bumper, so everyone better dump those original ones they have before the value tanks!

Re: Super Champ (Fighting Buggy)
I wonder if you'll be able to tell the re-re from the first release. If so it would be nice for those fortunate enough to have a nice original.

Re: Super Champ (Fighting Buggy)
There will be plenty of differences. From the picture in the OP of this thread, here are three quick ones:RedScampi wrote:I wonder if you'll be able to tell the re-re from the first release. If so it would be nice for those fortunate enough to have a nice original.
Difference #1: Clear oil tube from oil bottle to rear damper instead of the original black. (Of course, it is possible that the pre-production model differs from the shipped item)
Difference #2: Front suspension is the same as the re-release SRBs (Sand Scorcher and Buggy Champ) which use thicker front arms than the original and new ball cups.
Difference #3: FRP chassis is black instead of green.
Difference #4: Decals have changed. No more "Al Ernat", for example.
Plenty more differences to come as we learn more about the Fighting Buggy.
