M05 Mini Ratrod

Post by gumbajv »

A couple of progress shots. M-05 front section, custom rear section. Brushless motor & esc, custom wheels & rear suspension. 3Racing 0 degree hubs (2 lefts), custom front & rear shocks. HPI mini body. I had to move the rear wheels forward about 5mm to clear the back of the body.

Finished chassis shots. Motor is Exceed Rocket 2215 740kv. Front wheels are 3/4" wide with as much backspacing as I could get, and narrowed Sand Scorcher tires. The servo is recessed into the battery bay. I tiny battery slides in front of the servo.

Interesting look with the front wheel drive line. Sure looks compact up front. I really like the look of it though.

740KV? That seems really low for a drivetrain with standard reduction.

I believe ABC discontinued the mini pickup some time ago, Ive been looking everywhere. The 750kv (I had one laying around) is on the slow side. Odd, as I run twin 750's in a mini (4w/d, 4w/s) and it moves right along. Hobbypartz has been out of the exceed 2215's for a long time.

Well, it looses it's "ratrod" statis due to my color choice (candyapple red/pearl white mix).

That's pretty cool, not something you see every day! I'd love to see how it drives.
