Tamiya Lunchbox -- Youngest daughter's first rc build....

Post by tecnica2001 »

After watching me build my Monster Beetle and her Older sister building her Grasshopper, my youngest daughter decided she wanted her own tamiya kit, the other kit at the hobby shop....The Lunchbox....we couldn't spray the new body due to the cold weather, so we decided to add some Mario Bros decals to break all the white a bit.....

Unlike her sister, I did most of the building and she did most of the helping  , she did put the body together....

I have been thinking of picking up a lunchbox to bash around the backyard. Has your daughter ran it yet?

I got my daughters involved in RC a couple years ago. Last spring I gathered enough spare parts so that they could build a stadium truck with me. They loved it. Now they even go racing with me some and my oldest and I have a 10L to rebuild and set up for her to race. We've got to enjoy it whilst they're young!

She sure did, and it was a blast, she had bought a traxxas scully first, but it was too fast for her to handle, so the Lunchbox is right at her level, and she really enjoys it....

She already wants to add lights, a driver and a paint job....

My oldest daughter, was involved somewhat in racing, she won a couple of metals and trophies, including the VONATS, but I was building and maintaining everything, now that both my daughters are teenagers, we enjoy just bashing around in the backyard....

Racing stopped being fun for us as a family....

I love the way it's personalized with her name. Very cute. Makes me wish I had children to share this great hobby with.

Heck yeah. My buddy built a Lunchbox with his kid and they painted it flat gray, scuffed it up and slammed some Star Wars stickers on it. They are builing a Hornet now and the little sister is getting in on the action.

Ohhh yeah, it handles like a dream, and still lots of fun, I'll shoot a video when I get a wheelie bar, this Lunchbox is even more wheelie happy...
