Aluminum Duratrax wheels.

Post by K-TOWN-KITT »

I bought these for a future fox project. The fronts had common Tamiya bearings but there is no aluminum in between to seat the bearing. The bearings slip right threw. No wonder they were never used. I assume they take a flanged bearing but what size? A 4x11 flanged? The ID measures .430 inches or like 10.92 mm. Any help would be great.

Could you use a "crush" sleeve on the axle between the bearings?

Edit: duh, that still wouldn't capture the wheel. A biga$$ nut or washer? Or like you said flanged bearings.

Good luck!
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Standard Tamiya bearings are 5x11 so a flanged 5x11 is what you need provided you have a long enough axle.

Agreed 5x11 flanged would fit it up but you give away 2mm or so of axle length too. I'm sure the wheels must make up for that, so strange that they wouldn't have a step to them.

Those wheels are quite narrow, 5x11 flanged bearings should do the trick. I gave a set to my buddy to use on his girlfriend's Buffalo that I restored, after removing the dull, faded red anodizing and polishing them up.
