Best thing is if you end up going with some re-re Tamiya's to run, they have a ESC included. So you can run some retro cars on a budget. The re-re Frog / Brat also has updated dog bone type rear shafts so it is more durable.

The first car I started racing with was a Tamiya Hornet in the Novice class, around 1986 :D

My god, I can't even fathom trying to race with a Hornet, and I was racing when the RC10's were new.
