yeah, they are super fun. my custom build one is a little more nimble than a stock ladder arm clod, but they drive very similar.

before lipo and nimh, my cousin and I rewired his series/parallel motor switch to be a series/parallel dual nicd switch. that made the truck FLY.

You will never regret it. Just be aware that they tend to multiply almost as quickly as RC10s.

Yep, make that day now. Clods are great fun, stock or modded. Home built or bought. Endless possibilities. But as others have cautioned, they begin to multiply when you're not looking.

Like everyone else said! Get one! They are a lot of fun!

BTW, I just love the commentator in that video!

I've always wanted one for a fairly long time but they are pretty far and few between here. Basically everything here is double the price of the good ol USA. I'd hate to think how much shipping a clod here is.

It's a juggling act between 1:1 cars and other RC projects, plus being a broke ass doesn’t help either

My buddy way way back when had a clodbuster and super NES which I was envious of, talk about kid heaven. I remember I was slightly dissapointed in the clod as it was just a bouncy bumbling mess compared to the RC10 and the stock steering was pretty average. Needless to say we mostly played SNES

That bouncy bumbling attitude was what made it so fun and unique


I agree the commentator is great, it reminds me of the old auto shop videos we used to watch in school. You've also got to chuckle at the background music

This thread made me realize how I've had so many Clods in various configurations over the years but have only ever driven one!

The only one I have at this moment I bought back in 2010. It's still exactly as I got it. I haven't even cleaned it yet or anything.

I bought my first while in Japan - when it first came out, I HAD to have it. Drove all the way to Hacinohe to get it. Still have it in its modified form, and now have a stock one and a crawler chassis.

I recently picked up some parts trucks and a sassy chassis and finally got down to building one. Like everyone says--you have to have one of these. They are way too much fun. Something about the 4 wheel steering multiplies the fun factor. Half the fun was designing and fabricating my own suspension. I don't think I've gone a day without playing with it since I got it together a week ago.

Dont currently have one but they are great fun. The fact they bounce around so much makes it really fun to drive

Hey man I really dig that it looks so scale even with the mods!! Is that a stock length sassy chassis?

Thanks. She's definitely not a shelf queen. Backyard bashing at least once a week. Sassy chassis is stock length. I Made the suspension links to the length I thought looked and performed best. My wheelbase is about 55 mm longer than a stock clod. Since this pic, I've added a matched set of Trinity Monster Mash motors. I love this truck.
