No, I think they are just guessing- they tried to nail a bunch of keywords. This is from my "model car racing- by radio control" book published 1972 by the great George Siposs and he called it a home built. The gearbox looks very similar to yours. I'll keep digging but it might be worth a new topic.

Hi Guys,

some of you were really very helpful last time I posted some pics here. Hopefully someone can help me again.

The shock mount at the bottom is from GPM for a Tomy Intruder. Took me a while for my brain to click but the carbon shock mount is also for a Tomy Intruder. I seriously miss the obvious a lot!

Any way, anyone have any ideas if a company would have made the top shock mount or do you think this was a one off? Maybe you can tell by the weave of the carbon?

Image

if I can find out who made the carbon shock here see if they also did a rear in the same theme as the GPM one.

Thanks for your help.

Jamie

Trying to ID these shocks. I found a lot of stuff that looked almost like what I have but I couldn't confirm since the bodies, retainers and cups are all red alloy.

EvoRevo - Anything specific you're looking for an ID on? Seems like you should know what most of those are. Some stuff I don't recognize but I know the blue and silver shocks are Nichimo, and the red shocks in the same bag as the black Sandmaster shocks are from a Kyosho Shadow.

JamieB - Don't know who made your CF tower but if you're just looking for something that might match Fiberlyte makes some.

skunk.werks - Thunder Tiger Panda shocks.

ra272 - If it's modern I got no clue.

Thanks for the ID phin, I would have never figured it out. I recognize some other parts from it that I have also.

Thanks Phin, I have a couple of Fibre Lyte towers, I'm trying to build a fully GPM equipped Tomy Intruder but have no luck finding a rear tower. I think I would swap a Kidney for one!

I was hopeful someone could confirm if GPM ever made carbon variations of their shocks. Someone has copied the GPM one in Carbon, I guess it could have just been a one off.

I will contact Fibre Lyte to see what they have which is not listed on their site.

thanks

Jamie

This appears to be a Schumacher Fireblade EVO bodyshell - I believe Schumacher have recently done another batch of these bodies & are available on their website.

They did for their Tamiya TA-03 shock towers (I bought some carbon towers before they started making the same design in alloy only), and, if some of their older parts list are to be believed, also for Kyosho's GP Spider cars. They also did something similar for some drivetrain parts where both alloy and delrin versions of the same part exist.
