I don't think there is much known about Carlsson 1/8 scale cars here in US, probably much more popular in Europe. Nice collection of cars, thanks for sharing.

tomolupus, this is just a fantastic collection! Have been working a bit with these cars (1:12 and Pro 80) making the museum exhibition in Norway (http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27601). These cars have become icons in the rc history of northern Europe. Congrats with best collection seen!

Don't know anything about 'em, but that's a nice collection! Quite unique.

I´m now building another Pro 80, a virtual one this time.

I´m trying to learn Google SketchUp and this model was the one easy enough to start with, well easy enough so far.
Dreading the diff later.

very cool cars! We dont get to see Carlsson in the states.

I have played with sketchup quite a bit, I still get lost once in a while but a very cool program and very "usable"

Did Carlsson have one 4wd car that didnt use belt or cains it has O-ring to deliver the power.
I talked to Rune Carlsson many years back and he tild me that he make the cockpits to the HIROBO helicopters.

You are correct, the Carlsson Viking 4WS 4WD did use O-rings.
Here is a picture showing the 4WD conversion kit you could buy to convert your 4WS to 4WD.

It worked but I can´t see that it worked well and it was changed when the Comet 4WD came

I know from an article in a old hobby magazine that he made parts for Miniature Aircraft USA to their helicopters.

I found one more Carlsson 1:12. This is the early box from 1980-81

Chevron body.

I think this one was never run.

All the plastic part, except the diff and rear axle bearing, are made from white plastic.
The tyres are made of rubber not foam.

Very cool, I love the quick change wheels.

It looks like they took a group of people that had not seen a conventional design and let them run with it. That is a very cool take on 1/12, nice to see something that isn't mainstream

That early box design of the 1/12 is just so cool! Nice score.

Am I correct in that the quick change wheels first came with the 1/12? Seem to remember at this early stage it was only an upgrade to the 1/8 before it became a standard feature in the kits.

It could very well be that the quick change came on 1:12 first.
I have to read up on that, maybe there is something about it in my old magazines.
