Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
This car basically looks like a SG Futura VCS but some of the parts are homemade. Chassis, bumper and the left/right parts of the front end are not original SG parts, also I can´t see the typical SG gear diff.
Motor seems a Super-Tigre.

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
IS this vintage yet? My recently restored SMP Slide Car. Took a while but its finally done, just to mount the body then onto the next project. Brief list of items done :
1. Re-chromed all the parts since most where faded or chipped
2. Re-chromed some extra parts not done by factory to customize mine bit
3. Re-anodized all the grey parts to my color choice to make mine stand out from the factory finish
4. Re-anodized engine head from the orange on RB C4, to red to make it a bit more unique
4. Polished chassis to mirror finish
5. Added a clear plastic battery tray(not sure if its visible from pics)
The rest was items bought to finish it off.

Dynamics model matra on eBay. I really want one OF these, but the one on ebay is missing lots of parts and in rough shape. Just how rare are these and whats the value? It's currently at $192.

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
Those Dynamic cars are very rare/sought after and expensive. For a half descent price i would give it a go even with some missing parts. Maybe there's someone on this thread with more info...

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
Has anyone ever heard of a Gruapner expert speed car? I have a chance to purchase one in mint shape and just wanted a little information. Also Tirrel 6 wheels Gruapner, has anyone heard of that before? I am still waiting on pictures on the later one, it sounds cool....

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
Yes there was a Graupner Expert Speed car, actually several versions. Early version was fixed front end where newer version was using a rocker plate similar to other European cars as the SG. I think looks quite good but have no idea if it´s really collectable or not. Sold around 1980 to 1983.
There was another Graupner car with centered, longitudinal motor and 45° angled muffler. Not really sure on the name but also could be sold as Expert Speed car or maybe similar. This is an older car from around 1977.

Thanks RC10resto. I enjoyed that. Is this place open to the public? Also some cars have people's names in front, are those ex owners/drivers or donors?

Yes, Romulus plans to have his Museum open to the public several times a month in the near future.

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
Out of interest, how much did the car go for in the end? I was not able to watch the auction.
Dynamic is something special of course but I personally have to limit 1/8 cars because of room.
Delta cars are my main interest, some AE and MRP, half of a Thorp. That´s it.

Re: The Vintage 1/8 Onroad Thread
Just under $600
I know what you mean about space...but i don't have a lot of cars, and already cramped. How do the bigger collectors do...display them in a room or keep them boxed up...
