Wow I really like the paint job on the Porsche 917 very cool. Hope you're happy with the condition of the heat sink.

Really looking good, like the classic Porsche 917 body and chassis detail work.

The heatsink looked good enough I just slapped it on. I may, or may not clean it all the way up. It looked good enough. As for the body. I really liked the paint job too. Kinda silly to have the American flag covering a Porsche but I figure Dynamic was a US company so it's fair  It doesn't appear to have been run but it has a lot of age patina and the bottom sides are a little rough. But again. It'll do.

One more piece to the puzzle. I found this flywheel on eBay a while ago and stuck it in my watch folder since it was priced a little high for being in the condition it is. It finally had an offer option so I picked it up at a decent price. I'm still not sure the real reason it had a groove machined into it but it got me thinking, possibly for a pull start string? Either way it'll do for now as it's better than nothing.

Just finished installing the radius rod kit. What a PITA but we’ll worth it in the end. Such amazing looking cars.

Great stuff !! Did you find the rear upper rods a trifle long?

I can't imagine crashing one of these cars back in the day

Hahaha, that was my favorite part of the instructions.

Just a horifying thought
Never really seen one of these before , wonderful craftsmanship like a steam engine , I love the wood engine mount blocks and all the brass , like nothing I've seen before .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

I can see a lot of expensive damage being done as it appears rather delicate. If you have to bend those rods a bit with pliers a crash into a curb or other object could do a lot of damage.

Beautiful car though. Are those radius rods included with the car or an option?

My knowledge is limited to what I’ve seen over the years researching for pictures and information. I believe the radius rod kit was only an option part.

Couldn’t resist putting this on even though the car doesn’t have radio gear yet.
