Can you shed any light on what happened to the car afterwards, no one seems to know where it went?

In the pics posted it appears to have a pinion running on the spur (making the spur into a idler for the sake of front drive only) and a jack shaft running to another pinion on the left side. At this point i see that pinion spinning the same speed as the motor pinion as there (likely) has been no reduction yet. Then to a spur on a jackshaft to the chain pulley. I could be wrong but that's how I see it in the pic and in my head. I would love to see your variation if you find pics or if you have any contacts with more pics of this one.

Yes I had to run a pinion and jackshaft there so i could get the right ratio and
rotation of the front chain to the front.
If ran directly off the spur the front wheels
would go backward. My car got tossed about 5 years ago :(
So now I am buying a few of them to build up.
And put on my shelf.

sterling drive products also makes a few different chain styles, steel, brass, stainless in different pitches. I think I found the right size chain before. it's called ladder chain.

Kyosho optima is different, a bit bigger than the 834B chain.

Thanks guys for the info. And for the chains.
Charlie said he is sending me chains But the
Catch is I have to do a build up on the car.

Thanks JWSCAB Sterling does have ladder sprockets too.

Called my friend who raced with Gil and Jay and me back in the day
he said he has his Yokomo car I can have. Since he said it is in good shape
I can not bring myself to cut it up so Ill use it as a guide for the
parts I used and put it on the shelf.

Since I designed the hubs and center front drive off of that car I can
make new hubs and out drives at my shop. Since those parts are non
available I will just have to make them.

Impossible (takes time)
Cant be done (just takes more time and money LOL)

I feel like Im 25 again designing it all over again.
Ill give jay a call and see if he has one of the cars
or pictures also.

I'll keep you guys informed.

Very cool, sounds like the bug has bitten. Good news for us, bad news for your family and friends that you will be ignoring now that the hobby is back in your veins! Lol!

Hey Guys

Just spent an hour on the phone with Jay.
Asked him about the 4WD and he said he will look
to see what he has in his boxes. So he will get
back to me maybe tomorrow. He is also going to look
for the mags or to see if he has any pictures of the car.

He also said that the replica cars that he has signed
and seen has been very flattering.

I will keep you informed!!

Look forward to seeing/hearing what he has to offer! It's awesome that these guys that we all worshiped as kids are available and making time to help us out long after. 8)
