THESE HPI Adapters

The "red" ones are a direct fit to the 1/4" axles, BUT you have to sand down or cut off the part circled yellow (for buggy rims and non HPI truck rims)

If you combine the "blue" ones meant for Losi with the 3/16" axles you also gain about 4.2mm of offset per side which is a bit more than 5/32".

I hope this helps some of you guys.
Go to the thread and check out the picture where he outlines the exact adapters. If the adapters work on those wheels, I say do it. The Dirt Hawg tires are good ones, I use them as well

Those rims will work for the rears but only with 3/16 axles .you will need these for the front

those are truck wheels: way wider than the sc wheels.
But anyway an interesting link

http://cgi.ebay.com/FRONT-TRUCK-WHEEL-AXLES-Blackfoot-RC10-RC-CRP-1559-/230500585212?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories
which of those do you think is required to work with those front wheels?

I think he will need to replace the c-carrier and steeringknuckles with some SC10 parts for this conversion

I dig these wheels too...I wonder if he makes them for 12 mm hex drives (i.e. Kyosho)?

HPI is not interested in making front bearing'd wheels to match these wheels unfortunately. I have sent them some emails requesting wheels that would match. you guys should all do the same thing. it's a shame, those super stars are still some of the best looking wheels period....with enough interest, maybe they would tool them, I dunno.

those wheels you showed in the first link use hex drives, and are intended for a 4wd touring car.

you can use them all around if you do the following:

in the rear, you need those hpi adapters you posted a link to. I think you need to trim the hex version slightly and it will go on a 3/16" axle. otherwise, you need to slightly drill out the hex so it will fit over a 1/4" taper axle.

up front, you would need to use a hub assemblies from either:
traxxas bandit
kyosho rb5
losi XXX? not sure exactly, but I know one of the losi versions use the right thing.

the point is, all these setups use a captured axle that is bearing supported in the hub. the axle can then be solidy mounted to the wheel and it will still spin. use whatever hex is used for the assembly you chose (ie, traxxas is a plastic hex and pin, losi and kyosho use a hex sleeve/screw arrangement.)

otherwise, you can do as suggested, and use the actual truck wheel versions, but they will have a wider profile and need truck specific tires.
