Sorry for digging up my own thread but i just recently dug this buggy out and got looking at it. From what i can see i got as far as installing the RPM rear arms but didnt install the fronts. But now that i have it put some where where i can get to it quickly im going to be working on it along with a few other RCs in my collection over the next month or so to see what i can get running as decent runners.
The plan as of this time anyway:
Finish installing RPM front arms (need to order turnbuckles for this from what i remember)
Glue the Losi ribbed tires to the front HPI wheels
order a reciever for my Flysky 2.4 ghz radio to replace the old KO am setup
order a Traxxas slash spec servo
and find a decent ESC to run that Trinity motor on.
Also im just wondering...would a body intended for the reissue Worlds Car work on my gold pan?
This is my start to a gold pan runner build. Milled the chassis at work and rounded over back of chassis where it attaches to the motor and also rounded over the nose piece and cut it the same shape as the 6309 nose. Then sanded edge of chassis all...

Hey everyone - so I've pulled my all original gold pan out of my basement recently and gotten hooked again on RC cars. Been trolling the forums here for awhile and finally registered so I can start asking lots of questions (which I hope aren't too...

Some more updates. I want to thank everyone for their help and patience with all my questions and I'm trying to pay it forward by helping the new guys as they arrive here!
Here is my runner - still need to build the front threaded shocks and paint...
So I got an original gold pan RC10 back in the spring of '86 after working winter break as a starving first year college student. (Freshly back from living in Australia, for my Aussie mates), I splurged and got the full ball bearing kit. I wish I...

As you are now discovering, RC10s multiply faster than rabbits.
yes, i was warned of this. and damned if it isn't true. i went into this thinking i was just going to upgrade my old gold pan, then put the real money into a 1/8 4wd racer. now look...
I just go this off kijiji, for those wondering its a free classified run by ebay, I go it and a kyosho raider outlow chassis for 50.00 cad. Second time i have had one of these, foolishly sold the other one. I had to have one as i have a scorpion,...

for all the scratches and white parts, you can dye them black with rit dye to make it all match and clean up the worn parts some.
I just picked up a lightly used gold tub last Saturday. I'm in need of some original wheels and tires. Are there any other Vintage RC10 forums that you guys frequent for parts that are not as strict with access to for sale threads? I'll never get to...
 Well I just picked up my 5th car in about a month and the wife has about had so I guess its about time to build instead of buy. Picked this up since I might turn it into a nice runner for my daughter, im thinking dyeing the parts purple! Here...

DEFINATELY rotate the motor around! I would worry less about the wires being ripped off than I would the speedo motor leads shorting on the chassis! -Jeff
After about 6 months I am 95% done with my RC project. I started this to possibly take it to the Vintage Nationals this year, but I may just use it at the track as a runner.
Most is original from a friend who gave me a ton of stuff.
It originally...

I got the green for now because we run on an indoor track and with my other buggy I used this combo and it seemed to work out well.
What is the composition of your indoor? Green is more of a blue groove compound, a touch harder than gold. I...
