Re: MIP 4wd Project Almost Done
Yes Jake, those are the Mini-mags you drove halfway across the country to source for me and as you can see I am very happy you did.
Jason, yes once in a while pigs do fly and I just couldn't leave this one in the closet, too many in there already, almost bursting out. Hopefully another one will come forth in the near future.
Everyone thanks for all the kind words I do appreciate that!

Re: MIP 4wd Project Almost Done
Pigs on the wing? Maybe I didn't see them, maybe I did... lol, no wait, it was on the radio...
Stunning build Al , and I'm glad you posted pics of it. Maybe you should try to position the front shock a tad higher, there is almost no travel left up front with the 0.71" combined with short arms and stock front shock tower. That is if you plan to run it hard on a gravel track I wish mine will be done very soon, been waiting as long as you did as we bought these kits pretty much at the same time. I can't wait any longer for the tuber chassis to be done...

Very , very nice car . I see with this belt on the spur you have to run the motor in the same direction as the wheels, but I can't figure why... could you explain ? With 20 degrees of kickup and a motor spinning in this direction, the car must not have a lot of front forward traction... not that it matters much for a shelf queen, of course.

Re: MIP 4wd Project Almost Done
Not sure what you want me to explain: motor with pinion turns spur gear in opposite direction of motor rotation, the Hyperdrive belt conversion turns the big gear the same direction as the motor so unless you want to go in reverse around the shelf you need a reverse rotation motor or you have to change the fitment of the gearbox to the opposite side. Now if you are asking why I used the Hyperdrive belt conversion it's because I could and like you say it is a shelf queen.heretic wrote:Very , very nice car . Re: MIP 4wd Project Almost Done
Al, is there room in the steering bell cranks for a double servo saver setup? Since it is an early color chassis I have an extra saver bell crank-

Yep, I probably should switch them out for the .56 never really gave it much thought, I have them and it is a simple change.Asso_man! wrote:Pigs on the wing? Maybe I didn't see them, maybe I did... lol, no wait, it was on the radio...

Re: MIP 4wd Project Almost Done
amazing job Al. The car looks great, but would look better on my shelf I wish I had a boat load of cash and a whole lot of patience for a project like this one.
