91 Masami Stealth replica (Photo Comparison Uploaded)

This is something I have wanted to do since seeing the pics of this car posted here. I have all the machines at my disposal to do this but never wanted to really take the dive. I have already started collecting the parts for this car and have several parts on the way. I was able to source the tires and some parts through members here, thank you Rich, Jose, and Reggie.

This is going to be quite a task but I am committed to make this car as close as possible from the pics posted here. Most of the existing parts that were used are sourced and on the way to the house, the rest is up to me since they don't exist or at least to the general public.

Here is what I am starting with, looks like I am making good progress huh?

Funny you say that. I actually looked at them for a bit and even went as far as speaking to a compnay rep. Decided the $50K wasn't in the budget.
I will need to make the undertray too so I will be working on a mold for one undertray, LOL. Won't be fancy but I have ways to make it work, been studying the process quite a bit.

I used to mess round in autocad and 3dsmax all the time. It is hard to find spare time in these classes to work on personal projects. good luck though it sounds like an awesome project.

I actually have complete access to a family owned machine shop with all the machines I could ever desire. It is actually a fully operational machine shop for the oil field but it is owned by family (my father) and I have complete rights to it any time. CNC lathes, mills, manual machines, etc.

I can't draw worth a crap right now in CAD, LOL. This rectangle doesn't look like a Worlds chassis to me so I need some more training. I have Turbo CAD (as you can see) and I know it is quite a bit different than Auto CAD so I will be using strictly Auto CAD from here out.

I actually will be going into business in that machine shop in the next four years so I need the CAD side of things to really get going. This is an excellent opportunity for me to learn as well as fulfill something I have wanted to do.

man you have a long way to go in cad. It was one of my favorite classes of all time! I am sure you will enjoy it. I didn't know anyone who disliked it. That and physics were the only reason I went to school half the time (skipped all my other classes). oh yeah and to use the gym. It is so cool that your family is in such an interesting business.

I got my vinyl cutter in and I am finished with the masks for the paint job. It will be very close to the original but there are a few differences. Overall I am very happy with the masks and they should work perfect. I may start laying paint tomorrw if time permits. If the masks hold up like I expect, I may offer some of the mask sets up on the BST if anyone is interested.

Not much else has happened with this one yet. Still working on the drawings and waiting on a few other crucial parts for this build.

Damn Jake, I guess you've had some seat time with Flexisign before today! I couldn't do that on my first week!!

Well I got the paint done, and let me be the first to say I hate painting and I am not very good at it. Every thing is paint and no decals are present.

The masks I made worked flawless and really made the entire job fairly easy. I spent a ton of time trying to mix the colors to get them right and decided to say screw it and go with what I had.

I did not have a shade of green that was close so I tried mixing the color, not a good idea. I also didn't have a pink so that is way off too. Overall the body came out pretty good and hopefully the decals will help add to the overall picture.

If I could have found the green I was looking for and the pink, this probably would have been a bit closer. This is it for now unless I decide to do another body. That won;t be until the car is done though. No point in giving it another shot until the car is built.
