Scr8p, you are right on with my thoughts.

As far as machining the arms from a single block of nylon, you would need some really small tooiling to get the detail in the arms and you would also have to machine on side then flip the arm to machine the bottom side. That alone would make setup a nightmare. The easiest way to do that would be a custom jig which I would have to create and machine myself.

The best bet for this would be the molds and since they are machined I might as well give them a go. If they work, I can alsways make several sets of the arms in a relative short period of time.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

I did send an email to Steve Hustings so we will see if he responds. If not I will probably draw a tower similar to what you did Jason.

You could machine the bellcranks from white delrin instead of molding them in Nylon-

Reg, I plan on machining the bell cranks from a solid peice of nylon or delrin since that would be much easier than trying to mold them. It looks like the bell cranks use the same hardware found on the 10T but just take on a different shape. We will see...

I just fired off an email to the guy who was going to attempt to inject my arms using the molds. If we are still a go, I will amil the molds and pellets to him when I come home in Jun for my leave. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the molds work, but realisitcally, I am expecting an utter failure. Better to prepare for the worst on this, but man if it works I will be super stoked.

Steve Hustings was kind enough to take a picture of the rear shock tower for me. Looks like what I was expecting as well as what others originally thought.

well, I for one would be willing to pay stupid money for a replica conversion kit.

so if you ever do make a limited run, id be very keen

oh yeah, fyi, there were 15 91 cars made plus the protype (vs 3 prototype 89 worlds cars), 6 cars still are at associated and the rest all went to the drivers that raced them.

+1 especially with the 91' RC10 that I fall in love at first sight, but it was simply a prototype and I will never get one
And your awesome project come, even if you don't produce conversion kit, you make me remind of this wonderful car (and all the period).
Thank's to you seabass.

Jake... you know this is THE most watched-after project on the whole forum, right? ;)

(the former top-watcher was the MIP 4wd repro kit but we all know it fell thru)
