ya, they're pretty cool. this is the first and only factory fluorescent parts i have, other than a used blue nose plate noony sent me many years ago. the red stuff is used too but it's super, super nice.

Forgot I had a few shock rebuild kits in a box-o-stuff. So I got them checked off the list.

No real big update here. But, I picked up a new pair of front cat tires for this build. The ones I have on the car now are decent used ones from my hardwood racing days of the early-mid 90's.

I thought today was gonna be a good day. I was digging through ziploc bags full of springs to see how many nice sets I could come up with. Well, I happened to find one of the rear springs I "believe" I need for this. An early olive drab looking green spring. But only one. :(

I found some of the old shiny green ones too. But if anyone happens to have an olive drab rear laying around......

Can't say I've ever heard of "hardwood racing"?
Seems like traction would be very limited on a hardwood surface?

roller skating rinks, gymnasium floors, fire hall banquet floors....... you can get traction on anything with the right tires.

we used to run those skinny schumacher tires on all 4 corners.

Interesting! I never would've guessed that tire was good on hardwood!

I'd have thought street tires of some sort
- a larger contact patch for friction, rather than spikes for digging in?

Little update. Worked with Jeff on the battery hold down for this. Going by other cars of his from the area, I feel fairly confident this car had the same one.

I wondered if those holes were supposed to fit the stock screws and pin or if they were some kind of thumbscrew. Guess I can enlarge the hole next time lol

Picked up some new 1700 sce cells from Ed earlier this week.

According to the race summary in the magazine article on the race, Rory used Keil batteries. From I've been told Keil cells had a small sticker on them. So Aaron was able to help me out with a sticker sheet that will cover the larger Keil stickers on the body, as well as more than enough small ones for the battery.

Got the esc rewired and installed. Still have to assemble the battery and do a couple other little things..... like find what I think to be the correct esc. Then the chassis will be all finished, and I'll just have the body and wing to finish.
