Well, first outing didn't go so well for the RC10.

Before the race all was well, but once I got it on the track, realized it didn't have enough clearance, and the B4 rims limited most of the steering, making it not so much of a joy getting around the track.

finally made it in the a-main 2WD class by the skin of my teeth, and broken a rear A-Arm Hub Carrier on the 7th lap of the 6 minute main.

Well, went through it and fixed the RC10 for another future outing.

OG hub broke, put RC10T hub on it for now, but supplies are running low, and don't want to push this vehicle hard again before I can confirm more supplies for a hub carrier for 1/4" axles (unless I change out the whole outdrives to B44....

Was surprised how mush paint went bye-bye after 4 runs from the night prior.

The body did end up cracking around the wing tubes, so I did a very B4'ish change and cut the back of the body off, and simply placed it on the back mount with some body washers and more straping tape for the rear of the body to the chassis.

im using plastic gt ones on my current runner build and they are working fine

i did switch over to the 3/16 nds axles with new bearings but your current bearings should work as well

if you want to continue to run B4 front wheels, use some of these, helps with the clearance.

using 10T/GT rear hubs, you cannot re-use the stock flanged bearings, you must get the same size bearing, but without the flange.

Looks like a great racer. Custom bend some wire and make up some sway bars too if you want to help it go around the corners. I did it to mine and it made a world of difference.

atari, you can run the front rims "inside out" and get back some steering too.

Did you break the rear carrier landing a nice jump or a cart wheel?

Update: after getting it fixed i headed up to SDRC in san Diego for a run. Broke a rear hub carrier on the third lap attempting the wall ride, which is like a 10 foot drop if you take it wrong.

Out of parts its currently parked as on-road season is about to begin. Hopefully that will give me some time to get some aluminum goodies to prevent future rare parts breakage.

Update!

finally got rid of the OG wing guides and piano wire . Used a Kyosho set I saw on another post, worked great . going with velcro around the body means no more body clips!

17.5 class off-road looks fun at our local track, on some indoor, which should be a blast when I get there.

now I just have to do the steering and find some tough A-arm mounts. Come on AE! Get those repro parts out already!

hmmm, OK, I FINALLY got a 17.5 in my car, that 4.5 was destroying stuff (even with a stealth ) .

I t runs fantastic, and it fixed a problem I never ran into before; I'd glitch under hard acceleration and steering, and I'd have to power cycle the car. I though it was maybe a BEC problem or too powerful of a servo, but the motor swap has fixed all glitching!

It drove amaxing! Haven't been really able to play with it for like a year! awesome .

Anyway, I now get to play with tires! The British rims I picked up worked great on the rear, but then hit on the front RPM arms. I ended up putting B4 rims inverted on JC concept rubber up front.

Also, the 17.5 was also able to shred some treads only after a a minute, so I swapped to some old road hawgs.

Now I've got to do some more homework if I decide to go to the cactus classic next March/April 2014 ( a race known for shredding tires); what type of tire/compound can I run to give me max endurance on the "candyland" sugar track, AND should I consider some plastic bead-lock rims??

Anyone experienced in this area please feel free throw in your 2 cents; any advise is appreciated!

reproduction A-Arm mounts finally came in! The newbie's have little molded letters on the top of them to differentiate them from the old ones.

installed and worked like a champ. must order more.....

Well, little update:

* changed over to B44 rear axles to run the new worlds rims
* installed Novak edge esc with ballastic 17.5, runs great!
* installed rebuilt 6 gear, great turning radius!
* installed longer antenna tube to 2.4Ghz system, cuze its cool
* lots of driveway testing and stocking up on a crapload of extra parts for out of town racing

Will post picks when I get a chance, been posting lots for facebook group cuze don't have to resize pics .
