I don't like when people leave the body clear but this car is almost too cool to cover up. Great job or re-creating this car.

It would have been hard to cut if not clear. This was the runner body, it's going to be a template for the good body

Cab forward bodies would've plagued us a lot sooner. :x

I just read through this thread and love the project. I have always thought about making a front wheel drive buggy to see how it would drive. I can't wait to see the maiden voyage. I like Joey's thinking on a stealth with 2.2 wheels!

A stealth and 2.2's are very doable.
The problem occurs with longer arms and the kyosho hubs, if you look at my 4wd thread you will see how far I had to narrow the bulkheads to make standard arms fit.

A stealth might be tricky since the rear mounting holes would end up being in the kick-up.

After taking the time and building my re-re 6 gear with outdrive bearings and spacers (by taking time, I mean more than the couple minutes I usually take to assemble a trans) I am not opposed to a 6 gear. With JC coming out with "small" wheels/tires, the 2.2 route could also come into question :)

Very cool build.

I was told by the owner of the competing hobby store back in the day that they had to run the VW bodies to help them roll back onto their wheels in the corners lol. No cab forward for you!

Cab forward bodies was tongue-in-cheek thinking designers would use the cab to cover the front trans. ;) But more seriously, if FWD took off, maybe we might've seen some more experimenting with limited slip diffs for 1/10 electric RC.

I'm going to use a 6 gear and will test out one of these PN Racing pan car spurs. Don't have much faith in them but it seems interesting. If I were going to be trying to build an actual FWD racer though I think would try and do a custom belt trans using a Kawahara negative diff for a V One R or MTX3.

Interesting  I like it. Just wonder if it will truly lock up. This would be an ideal component if it works

I'm very skeptical that it will lock up well...or even that the oil in the "reservoir" won't just all leak out...but for just $10.00 it's worth a shot.

Georg Kotzinger supposedly ran (runs?) a B4 with a limited slip diff. Haven't seen any pics of it's insides but I can imagine it'd possible to build something like a Kyosho Inferno TCD out of an aluminum gear diff case for an SC10.

I've come to the conclusion that I can't afford to have a custom set of chassis laid up for this, so for now I decided to send her out to have her "carbon fiber" parts anodized black. At least it's closer to the feel of what it should look like
