RC10 Factory Works MIP 93' Worlds Racer Restoration
I figured I would start a build thread on my 4-10 Legend 4wd RC10. Any questions or comments are welcomed. I have not done a build thread on here, so here goes nothing. This will not be a 100% correct restoration due to parts being very difficult to find!
This is what I started with. A Craigslist diamond in the rough find:

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
I got it all blown apart to see what I had. The pan is an original A stamp gold pan. I am going to use this pan as it is the original. I don't like how it is cut in the back, but oh well. It is going to stay purple for now until I can decide what color to go.

Re: RC10 MIP 4-10 Legend Build
Got the Stealth gearbox built with the MIP shaft for the belt. I am missing the rear belt pulley. It will look like the front one pictured. Please if anybody knows where I can get one of these, let me know!

Looks good so far. Is it a one way for the front gear?Vintagemishal wrote:Front gear box is apart for inspection and cleaning. Everything looks great!

Cool score.
Nice way to save some weight back there. Never seen one like that.
Looks like you've got a paperclip for protection back there.

Amongst your search keywords include "mipet" which was the pet name for those hybrid pullies. I think they were considered not a cog and not a tooth

The front outdrives are directional, so I believe it acts as a one way. Mine has the slipper assy as well.shodog wrote:Looks good so far. Is it a one way for the front gear?Vintagemishal wrote:Front gear box is apart for inspection and cleaning. Everything looks great!

Here are my wheels and tires of choice. I narrowed a pair of rear Proline wheels and shaved down the centers for the front. Tires are Proline Champions.

Did some parts cleaning today to find the best original parts I could. Got the front gearbox back together.
