Cliff Lett RC10 Replica / '90 ROAR Nats

Post by scr8p »

Picked this up ftom fletch the other day. Not exactly sure if it will become anything more than a tear down, clean up and put back together. But we'll see. I like starting out with cars like this to see how nice they are under the dirt. :)

alright, i figured out what i'm gonna do with this car....

my car will end up just looking like a well used version of his. i'm not in the mood to start another replica with all new parts, fresh ano, etc. but i've wanted to do this car for awhile and it's a decent enough platform to start from.

it'll be another one of those runners of mine that never get run.

i'm sure it had to do with a factory team driver using all the possible factory parts as possible. plus, wanting to show that it will hold up the rigors of racing. i don't recall seeing a car of his that he didn't use a stock setup.

i've always liked it as well. there's been a few guys that were gonna tackle this replica so it's one reason i chose to do his 88 nats win instead. mike got close to the end with his, and the others never seemed to take off. so i figured i'd give it a go...... even though the end result isn't gonna be pristine.

i thought about doing masami's 90 reedy race winner (maybe 91, can't remember off the top of my head), since i have wanted to do that one for a long time too. but i know there is already one of those being built right now, and with who is building it, i'm sure it's gonna look awesome. i've already seen a spy shot or 2.

Nice! I love that one too... I would love to do that one, I'd have to take out a second mortgage to afford the yokomo rod ends though! :)

Guess I should've cut the back of the nose plate off while I was at it. Oops...

Well... I couldn't leave it alone.

The scratches were just bugging me too much, so I decided to re-ano it. I got the majority of the gouges out, but there's a few left. It's still 99.9% better than it was.
