Hi Brian,

I am glad you kept your homemade front tower, it just adds to its uniqueness.

I could never get the bloody Hot Trick steering to work for me, I ended up getting so mad with mine I

am pretty sure I threw it in the bin.

Mine was red, doesn't it pivot on the threads of the screws?

Cheers, Dave. :)

Yeah, it's a terrible design, like most Hot Trick stuff
Mine always worked fine though despite itself

I think I have seen all 3, gold - red - raw. I'll dig and find one of each.

Mine is somewhat primitive looking, I'm guessing maybe it was the first run of them they did.

Never saw a raw set but here's a black set (with a single gold) that I sold awhile back.

Here's mine. Lack of anodizing aside, they are much less finished looking than the examples above. I think these must have been the very first version, probably not many of them around I would guess.

It's possible. Here's a NIP nose plate that's natural aluminum with what could be an early version of a header card:

We're visiting my mom this weekend and I started looking in some old photo albums and found these pics of this car back in the day. I didn't have any stickers for it, so I crappily hand painted some stuff on the body. Oh well, I thought it looked good at the time

And for fun, here's a few other cars we had around that time. Wish we still had the Clod and the Scorcher!

Just looking back through this thread... Joey, wtf is that thing? Obviously Frog suspension in front, but what was out back?

I was skeptical at first, but it came out beautiful! Congrats!

I love the hand painted stickers! Sometimes you gotta make due with what you got. I couldn’t afford the Andy bumper for my graphite ten when I was a kid so I cut one out of a paint bucket lid....

The bumper looks great, I wouldn't have guessed it was home made.
I made and modified a lot of stuff for this car when I was a teen, some of it came out better than other, lol.
Now it looks good sitting on a shelf in my garage. I still need to put the motor in it, other than that it's done.
