A Hot Mess

Post by Supernaut »

Got super lucky on this one.......I think.
Judge for yourself......showed up on the bay and I had to snag it.
I will post more pictures when I actually get it and can clean it up.
Looks like some choice parts in this mess.

There are some little gems on it like those Tecnacraft turnbuckles. Did you pay a lot for it? What are your plans for it?

From What I can see
Tecnacraft turnbuckles (-1)
A&L bell crank
Worlds - Chassis and shock towers
Losi Battery Cup - I need this for my JRX-Pro (the one i have was cut)

I think that I have enough parts on hand to make a world's car out of it.
Did not pay much, about the bare minimum any RC10 goes for including shipping.
I was just checking the bay really quick and it was a BiN so I had to take it just for the chassis and bell crank.

what's the white stuff on the right of the chassis? Adhesive residue, or bare aluminium, or some kind of funghus?

What a weird cocktail this is anyway... worlds chassis, team nose plate, gold motor plate  and then the luxury of tecna's on such a poorly maintained runner... some people I swear... good for you!

I already have the shipping information. Should have it on Saturday.
On closer inspection the rear shock tower is not a worlds, but I have one to use.
The cross section looks like a worlds but the holes are incorrect, maybe just an incomplete dye job.
Thinking to cut down the chassis and put a A&L Chassis Stiffener on it. Then the extra holes will be gone.
Also thinking RPM arms.
cant wait to see what is under the duct tape?!?

What to do What to do.....?

Ok here are all the parts that are worth while.
I will go through my stock and see what I can use to make this into a true worlds car.
It looks like I am only missing rear arms and of course the battery brace, but if I go with RPM arms it wont matter.
The chassis turned out better than I thought it would.
Anyone know what that rear shock tower is. It is composite and looks a little like Composite Craft but I have no idea.
The white parts that were not broke were cleaned and then put in WD-40 to try and get them cleaner. Some might need a dye job.

you can get the front and rear associated arms in black composite pretty easily. even easier in a few months.

the rear shock tower may be composite craft if it is carbon fiber. Pretty road rashed, but you could probably sand/cut off the outer holes anyway, and shape it to look pretty good. kind of like the rpm worlds tower.

I have a front end and a good shock tower similar to the Worlds to use so that I don't have to use the one in the picture.
I am going to jumble around the steering on some of my cars so that I can get a Worlds on on this one.
Might go with a blue powder coated nose plate that I can cut down to a worlds style.

That is a good idea to make the rear shock tower look better.
I found a Worlds rear bulk head to use also.

Now my dilemma is to cut down the sides of the chassis or not. I think It might look better if I do.

How did you end up with so few usable parts? Most of the plastics looked okay.
. . . you have Associated Green Slime for brains. And not even new Green Slime, but old gooped out Green Slime.

Not sure on the rear tower, I have one too :?

Aside from what is is, this is worlds which would obligate me to find a worlds tower. Just my 2 cents
