Post by DaveM »

Hi Guys,

I was searching the internet about 5 years ago, I was looking for RC10 based oval

racers and found this one that I really liked and decided I wanted to build my own,

So I started with this, and then started collecting parts, I soon realized the body shell would not fit a

standard RC10 chassis I was lucky to find a Hot Tricks chassis on E-bay.

Looks awesome! 8)

Where did you source those rear tyres from?
Do, or do not! There is no 'try'!
RC; Boats, Buggies, Trucks, Bash's, Racing and of course 'VINTAGE'!

Thank Guys,

When I started collecting a few cars and parts more than 5 years ago even though postage was cheaper, I was still

paying just about as much for postage to Australia as the cars that I bought.

So when I was looking at RC10 buggys I would try to buy one that had some extras to get value for money.

So I ended up with 2 sets of rears and 1 set of fronts for the Jelly Bean wheels, here's a couple of pics.

It's funny because when I got the rear wheels and tires, that's what got me started on this project.

Hi Guys,

I have some updated pics of the old girl, she's got some Losi aluminum bellcranks on her now,

I also did the six gear bearing conversion, and the old girls got a set of RJ Speed foamies on her as

well.

I have a local hobby shop that has an indoor off road track and a on road track as well, so I am

planning to give the old girl some time on the track just for fun.

Cheers, Dave.

Looks awesome! Before you run her, I'd look into at least some temporary bracing/top plate to keep the nose plate from getting damaged, and reduce the flex in the hot trick chassis.

Hi Guys,

Here are the pics of some of the mods, and I dyed the arms as well because I think it was Gomachv

that said oval cars should have black arms, and it does look good with the red and white body.

I was digging around in a box for something else and found this front bumper, it was originally red but

I had sprayed it silver for another project, so I stripped off the paint and had a look at it on the old

girl, but the bumper stuck out too much so I re drilled the mounting holes, cut a bit off and here it is,

Cheers, Dave.

Looking good Dave. I really like the jelly beans as they suit the styling.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the compliment, RJ.

Jwscab, your'e right the chassis has a bit of flex in it.

I also have the new front bumper for her, I will be trying not to crash.

I have a spare sprint car chassis made from G-10 and I think I might try and get some material

and try to cut my own.

Still I will try not to crash

Cheers, Dave.
