B44 front wheels are 10mm hex, same as Losi XX4 & XXX4. The new 22-4 uses a 12mm hex axle/wheel - if you dont mind looking at TLR parts :) , while you are there, you can eyeball the dogbones as well, the ball end is the same as AE now (not the large end they used to have).

I've got the assoc parts coming but if they fail I'll look at the Losi

Is the Losi a CVA style? I assume CVD style

Here's a few pics showing the width, how much room is freed up for the front gearbox, and the motor "centering" mod to allow for a wide pulley

GT2 topshaft eh? I did this with my 06' HRC Disruptor (in mid motor). You will likely run into trouble unless you create another bearing support near the pulley, the bearing spacing inside the case isn't far enough apart to support any torque out that far (like the spur) but if you make another bearing support neat that torque point you'll be good to go!

What's the measurement on the front wheels outside to outside? Looks narrow...or maybe it's just the pics

I measured it against a team car and it's close, but the 12mm drive hubs will change widen it once I get the correct ones. I'll get a measurement once it's "proper". With the b44 wheels it was too narrow for sure...and the wheels looked stupid hahaha

As far as the topshaft wobble, I was noticing that as well but figured it was my $.99 bearings lol! I will have room to make a support that can ride on either the inner slipper hub or the shaft depending on where it ends up. I'll probably use a flanged bearing along with a g10 plate that will use existing holes. When the pulley gets here I will finally know my exact measurement for the spacers. My other problem will be the slipper cover, it's going to be hanging out there a bit!

Anyone know a traditional "total" caster measurement for a late model 4wd buggy? I am thinking the 20 degrees is about double what I want

Kick up averages 5-7* total caster is normally around 12* by memory

** support** what I did was make a flanged bearing support with the motorplate, we ran slipper eliminators...but you can run the flange the other way. I also made my own aluminum and carbon fiber motorplate

Got the front axles in. The rear stub with hex and a spacer are the perfect width, as compared to my stock team car anyway

So here is the next major hurdle

Yup.. I have offered to help out.. I told Jeff that I can model this up and print prototypes.. I'm actually in the process of getting my 3d Scanner up and going.. Was missing a part but it arrived and just need to finish putting it together.. But we will see.. I think he's working out some things before taking the next step...

Yeah been running thru some things in my head and need to figure out some mounting ideas- if it's going to be custom I have to take advantage of the flexibility  thank you for the offer of help 8)

No problem.. I like challenges and this one would be fun.. I really liked your first one.. 8) I'll be doing some scanning this week coming up of some parts to see the viability and quirks of scanning.. I'll also be using your project to test and work with nylon as it will be a decently complex part.. been working with abs so far with good results..

Just checking fitment. Bones are too long...this isn't a bad thing tho. New caster blocks with less caster and fix bone length too. This also will allow me to go back to b44 wheels, simplifying the parts list

6mm HTD pulleys and belt, no slipping allowed!
