Fantastic work, it reminds me of my first experience with RC cars. A long while back when I was at summer camp one of the councilors brought his tube frame gas 1:5? scale to camp. It was huge, loud, all tube framed and quite fast and it got me hooked. This must have been the late 80's as I was still in grammar school and I just tuned 40. It was the highlight of my summer camp experience.
When in doubt, throttle out. It may not help the situation but it will end the suspense

Wow, one of my favorite builds on here. Excellent work, as always.

Thanks for the compliments. this never got finished out because overall I wasn't happy with how it turned out. I'm going to switch out all the silver aluminum Dhawk parts for gold plated ones and change the wheel centers to gold also. Ultimately I may change the body out to something more low slung.

Well, whatever you do, keep the top part of the cage exposed. :D That's my favorite feature of your build!

I agree the exposed cage looks great. I made a roof and haven't decided on using it or not.

I would need to cut the roof out of the andys body and I'm not sure how it would look

stick with a fresh updated trimmed protech and add a roof panel. I think that will look awesome.

Use the lower half of the body, and leave the upper roof parts exposed, and use your roof section....just like real buggies.

Updating this thread to show some of the changes I’ve made. I wasn’t satisfied with the renegade body.

Image

I wish it sat lower like the Protech body does.

Image

Andy was starting to paint the Protech bodies and I picked up this one.

Image

I used an unpainted body to make a template to cut the Andy body with.

The front wheels looked too small so I tried a different set Tecnacraft wheels with a larger front rim.

This I what I came up with.

Took it to the beach for some BOTM pics.

This is so killer! I've always wanted a tube sand rail since I saw that one in RC action that had the cooler and cup holders!!! That's was the 90s!
