Well, if it isn't going to be run, can I suggest metal shocktowers?

I built the dampers this morning. Had to dye a few bits black

I used some RPM spring cups. The rears will need travel limiters put in. I want to get it further assembled then set the ride height.

An aluminum shock tower would look good. That's something to consider. I was entertaining using a composite craft carbon motor plate to match the carbon front shock tower.

Rebuilt the internals of a stealth transmission and installed them into a Rogue Elements aluminum case. Scrapped the idea of using the composite craft motor plate as its drilled for 6gear tranny. So I took a stealth motor plate and cut the tab off and then sanded and polished the edge. Installed a set of MIP CVD driveshafts to round out the drivetrain.

Sweet! Funny I have a set of polished MIP CVD's on my CE runner.. doesn't deserve them.

It'll be a shame to cover any of that chassis! Maybe make panels for every single hole? like an all exposed frame?

I think changing to white cups might not look as good as it sits now. Chrome and white just don't go as well together as black and chrome.

Very inspiring! Plus I'm a sucker for metal builds.

Tonight's project was to restore a set of Tecnacraft wheels that I got these in a recent craigslist deal.

Image

I used some axles chucked up into my drill to polish the wheels. They weren't too bad off to begin with but there was a fair bit of oxidization that I sanded off with a scotch brite pad.

Once they are smooth, it's time for the mothers mag polish.

Instead of standard buggy tires I used a set of Carson tires with an off road tread.

Not sure if I like the tires :| Thanks for the idea of chucking the axle with wheel for polishing, dumb ass me never thought of that!

I think black springs (though soft) would look better.
