b2/3 wing mount for fibre lyte rear tower
Guys,
I need some advise.
I've bought this fibre lyte rear shocktower:
Can anybody tell me what rear wingmount I should use? Fibre Lyte tell me to use a kyosho mount but I don't have a clue which one they mean...
and what whing could I use, B4 or B5 maybe?
thanx

Most probably this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/UMW-1-Wing-Stay-Set-Kyosho-Ultima-Pro-Lazer-Triumph-Rampage-Pro-X-Inferno-10-/251839204139?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa2c94b2b but I guess you can always use the stock tubes for mounting the wing.

no it's a b3 and that doesn't have tubes like the RC 10.
the one's on ebay look vintage and pricy
It's just a runner....

I was going to say Rb5 or Losi xx4 wing mounts, but after looking, asso_man is probably right, those wing stays look to have a wider mounting pattern. not that you couldn't buy the xx4 or rb5 mounts and drill another hole if the mount points are different.

Re: b2/3 wing mount for fibre lyte rear tower
you could drill and tap one side of an old pair of rc10 wing tubes. just apply a little loctite on the screws so they don't come undone. you will have to stretch out your wing wire slightly to fit the tubes. with this method it will push up your wing a bit higher than usual.
if you like to have your wing run evenly with the top of your body, you will then have to drill two new holes just below the top mounting locations and bring the wing tubes down slightly. now your wing will run evenly with the top of your body.
either way you choose you will have to notch your wing with a dremel sanding drum to clear the tops of your shock tower and shocks.
for the lower portion of your shock tower you might also have to slightly sand away some material if you're going to mount your ball studs inward, to clear the nuts. i suggest you use the smallest diameter mini nut you could find so you don't take away too much material.

Re: b2/3 wing mount for fibre lyte rear tower
I was told they were mounts from an rc drag racer, but I don't have the purple B3 anymore. But if you look at my yellow and blue shelfer B3 that is for sale now, I used the same tower and A&L wing mounts.

Re: b2/3 wing mount for fibre lyte rear tower
I picked up a B2 about a year ago, and it had an Integy wing, with these mounts. They attach right to the rear tower...no idea if these came with the wing, or if they are made by some other company.
It's still pretty dirty, since I didn't bother to clean it up for the rebuild...

I'll try these Yokomo mounts for now, see If they work:
