First off guys this is an awesome website and the technical information I have found on here is invaluable.
While I was moving last week I stumbled across a box that had been taped shut. When I first opened the box I could not believe it but there was a brand-new RC 10 B3 team car that I had assembled back in 1998 but never even mounted electronics or a radio on it. Back in 93 I used to race a old aluminum chassis team car and had a blast doing it while in high school so I purchased this in 98 while in college for just something to build and drive around on campus for fun. Well it never exactly got finished as it was put in this box and taped shut right after I finished assembling it. Now at 38 years old I found it in mint condition in the box so I want to put some Modern electronics on it and again just take it out to have fun in the neighborhood. I went down to my local hobby store to get a crash course in modern electronics and I left with a brushless motor, speed control and a new radio. Now I'm just waiting for a few parts to arrive and I should be ready to have fun with this thing and finally get to drive it after 17 years. I forgot how much time it takes to paint a body so I quickly did this and it looks like crap. I also included some old electronics pics.
Do you notice any handling differences between the RC10 graphite team car and the RC10 team car with tub chassis (both fitted with white nylon parts throughout)?
I haven't driven either yet. Been a while...greetings all :)

I would say the tub chassis has more flex and probably a lot bigger sweet spot for setup
My First RC car was a Tamiya Bear Hawk. I didn't know what I was doing when I built it up but the instructions were good enough to get it running. Over the years I Frankensteined that car trying to get more from it than was ever intended for. I...

Looking forward to following your build, always like checking out what mods are added to squeeze more out of the Tamiya cars (an old hotshot was one of my firsts and it barely resembled the original car when I was done with it). :)
After searching for a while I finally scored the much sought-after RPM cover for my LRM slipper set-up, and I can't get anything on the forward-most screw. The old scans say to use a nylon 4-40 nut, and the smallest one I could find doesn't fit....

I use a small peice of rubber tube (peice of wire with the strands removed) its just a tight push-on fit but works OK.... think I might try the ball joint trick as that looks like it could be more secure?
Brand new to the forum. I fly rc planes a lot, but there's a dirt track right next to the runway that finally caught my eye and sent me back home searching for my old car Id forgotten almost 20 years ago, I found it, the radio and the charger (the...

That's really all that was in the box, minus one or two AE product flyers. That manual should be an early version (showing the Reedy BK motor, CC front tower and steering). New tires for that car (Proline 8086 rear and 8015 front) are floating...
An older gentleman wandered into my local racetrack the other day asking about anyone interested in buying an old rc drag car collection. I jumped at the chance, of course, and met him at his house after the race day ended. The man's name was Ben...

He doesn't have any slot cars anymore. Just some old motors.
