Just be careful on the blasting, sand media can heat up and distort aluminum. Glass is best. Walnut shells won't do it.

See, I feel the same way. if a chassis has been modified and is really hacked, yet usable, it might be worth stripping and adding color to give it new life. (suggestions on the best way to strip the color off?)

I've had this A-stamp runner for years.
It runs great, one of my favorite runners:
smooth 6-gear transmission
RPM arms all around
gold shocks with gold shafts and bleeder caps (0.71's up front)
World's type steering bellcranks
JC Racing wheels with...

I have run this one with an ounce of weight at the nose,
and the front shocks moved to the innermost upper mounting point (more horizontal).

It really handles nicely!

I am pleasantly surprised, as are others who see me running it.

I once picked up a frankenbuggy that had black 'C' stamp chassis and a cut CF front kickup plate...badly cut at that. Pulled the parts I wanted and resold the rest so I guess my answer is no help to you. :mrgreen:
