Picked up some more parts from my LHS.

Associated b3 body 6142.
Apparently the last one in stock from the main distributer in aus,
heavily discounted too, score
Diff rebuild kit
Few other odds and ends.

All I need now is a couple of new 4-40 screws, a servo horn and the foam dust seals and I should have everything i need.
Oh and a pair of exotec button screws.

Undecided what I should do, body paint wise.
-team kit box art
-the same as i painted many moons ago (green front end that fades to blue

Slowly getting there...
Painted the Shapeways bits with VHT rattle can gloss black, the paint really holds into the printed parts.
Motor plate got the same treatment plus I filled down the damaged bits and burs.

The stealth trans rebuilt with the exception of the larger two bearings as they were incorrect in the kit I brought.
Seller is sending me the correct ones (the original 19 year old bearings werent really that bad)

Some awesome members are sending me some graphite parts, plus some Ti hinge pins.
Looking forward to fitting that stuff.

Fitted are the original wing and body.
Both are very beat up, rear of the body was broken off long ago.

Decided to get a professional to paint the body,
Same colour scheme now but having the paint tear away affect exposing some carbon fibre design on the rear of the body.
Hope you all can imagine it.

Very cool build. I had no idea Niki was involved with Fibre Lyte! Niki, what's the story behind this?

Thanks Vintage AE,
The B2/3 carbon chassis is a great, cost affective way to have a unique rc10 what has a old(er?) school feel to it.

I think Fibre-lyte is Niki's first choice for carbon products?
Ordering what I wanted was very easy!

Nothing special with it. Before NIX91 project all my custom parts were made by Fibre-Lyte. Top quality, easy to work with, ok price even for single parts. Can't really ask for more while building a prototype...

I hear you, back when we were all starting to build the "old is new" RC10s, all of my CF parts were from Fibre-Lyte. Super quality and decent prices and still do, just that there are more options now.

Progress so far...

Received some goods off erichevy,
fitted them aswell as some new foam dust seals. Very good!
Novak 410 mxc and trinity experimental motor fitted.
Decided to use what I have already insted of spending MORE moneys on this buggy haha.

Will need to make up a set of very short saddle pack wires to keep it neat.

Still waiting on some new carbon arms, Ti hinge pins and a anno blue alum top plate.

Also brought a large lot of t4 and b4's with more than enough spares, so will eventually go the later slipper, threaded shocks and CVD associated bits.

Just picked up a lipo cut off switch thingy.

Ordered asc6182 and 6183 to use with my yz10 and this b3.
Not sure what wing will end up where though.

First drive in over 10 years this weekend, stoked!

It runs!
Need some fine tuning.
Cant get the brakes to work,
Possible receiver failing, its like its running out of range but at random.
Using a tx/rx thats from a AE rtr kit.

Swaped in a better transmitter setup and went down the local track.

Cons :
Didnt get pics
Battery life is rather average with the novak 410 and trinity brushed combo, even with the 5100 saddle packs.
Motor went up in smoke down the straight, im affraid its dead.
Mini smoke show and all.

Pros:
Handled fantastic
Much nostalgic fun was had (prior to motor fail haha)

Brushless setup on the cards soon, plus some action pictures!
