If I build a Masami replica I would need (off the top of my head):

Blue motor plate, chassis plate, and I guess nose plate.
Ti front button head screws
KO RX and servo (not sure type?)
Tekin ESC (not sure type?)
Yokomo Sanyo 2000's early type
Losi Sprint rears
Silver early FT wing buttons
Aluminium CVD's
I'm not 100% sure but I think Masamis car had NOT the blue chassis parts?

You will also need the rear custom made shock tower + blue anodized wing tubes and replace the shiniy cvd's by black ones. Why titanium button head screws? Can't see any on Masamis B3?

Cedric!?? Help please :)

Look at the pictures! Your thinking of the wrong Worlds (99 I think) and different B3. Mine is 97 as per the first pictures.

Anyone know what electronics Masami used in 97 B3 pictured here?

I know the esc is a Tekin but what version?

This would be my guess on the esc. It's what he had in his 4wd.

It might take some time, but Tekin has a product archive you can search though

Scr8p that's not even listed in the Tekin timeline. Where the heck would I find one? That was for the Asian market is my guess? The closest looking one in the time line is the G12c from 1996. After that was the G10 and was totally different!

Thanks for the help guys!

You're definitely gonna have a harder time finding that than you will a g12c III (which is probably what it is). Keep an eye out on those Japan auction sites.

That's one thing with replicas. Gotta find the hardest stuff first before getting too involved, in my opinion. There's a couple more replicas out there that I'd like to do. But some items are damn near impossible to find, or ridiculously priced if/when you can find them. But if the right esc, or set of tires, or turnbuckles....... whatever it may be......... if that hard part shows up and I can get it, well then that's most likely the beginning of another build. For some reason I like to punish myself with more projects.

About that Tekin ESC.
Accoring to RCCA Masami used "Tekin M-Star Red" in 2wd and also in 4wd.
RCCA 2wd Top10.jpg
RCCA 4wd Top10.jpg
There are a at least 3 different version on "Tekin M-Star":
Gold label, see scr8p's post. This version has (from bottom to top) "Set"-button and torque limiter knob.
Black label. This version has (from bottom to top) "Set"-button, torque limiter knob and something blue.

Red label. This version has (from bottom to top) "Set"-button, torque limiter knob and break adjustment knob.

I have maybe a bit bigger resolution picture from RCCA about Masamis RC10B3, this ESC seems to me have something between torque limiter knob and FETs like there is in black label and red label ESCs. Those, maybe 9 pixels (dots in printed magazine) are darker where the break knob is than the pixels next to it. So the ESC that Masami used is red label or something else.

In this video starting at 2:02, you can see a gold label m-star in his 4wd car. But, the more I look at it, you can see the brake adjustment pod above the current limiter like the red and black label m-star's have. So who really knows.

I still think the 2wd car had the same esc, whatever it is. I don't know how the red label esc would look in black and white, but it seems too bright in the pic to be red...... to me anyway. Just my $.02.

Thank you for your input guys, and thank you for the sweet scans and pics jirka! As usual you guys are great help! I think for now, I will use what I have (g12 or u10) that looks close and replace them as I find correct electronics. If I never find the correct electronics.... I really don't care! Just as long as it looks the part!

Correct parts are getting harder and harder to find these days. Must be more people across the world doing restos and builds. Though you would never tell by the slowdown of traffic here! Must be that damn facebook!

In that chassis scan, what KO RX is that and what is the switch in front of the RX? I assume behind the RX is a stutter stopper or some type of cap?

Would that be an FET booster?

IIRC Auto RCM (French magazine) had a body off color pic of Hirosaka's car. So maybe one of the French guys on here can help you out...

Anyone have that French article? I would love a scan of it. I also added a cool Youtube video on page one post one.

I have been working on this car lately and have noticed a few things. The ball cups Masami used at the race were B2 type, the ad and art car had the NEW B3 type ball cups (Not sure what to build now, race or the ad car?). The Tekin stickers were deleted from the ad and art. (Not sure what the beef was with AE and Tekin? I don't think they were selling LRP at the time.) Another cool thing is the name Masaaki on the tail end of the body. Looks like only the blue motor plate was used. Also, the standard front tower, not the FT carbon fiber tower. I think the Factory Team line of parts did not exist at the time, as I can't find any Factory Team documents or parts listed in my B2 and early B3 kits. I think FT was just about to be created at this time. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
