I'm noticing battery fitment might be an issue. Is there a different setup to use when changing the battery position?

When I swap the 2.4 receiver in, will I be able to use my old steering servo?

You can get a "shorty" pack, and move the battery holder to fit, that's what most of us do. Either front-to-back, or sideways.

Yes, you can use your old servo, no issues there.

You'll learn a lot in a very short amount of time, in regards to the new tech available. That's how it was when I got back into RC.

It looks like the lipo pack I ordered will fit the front to rear mounting setup.

5 x 2.1 x 0.9 inches.

Thanks for your input.

You can also make a spacer from foam, which is what's in my car. The battery is in the forward position, and the foam in the back.

Thanks, I'm going to wait for the batteries and see what I need to do.

or ask GoMachV, i had him make me a battery strap for shorty in my rc10's. but its designed like the Schelle in my T5M. its a little longer than the shorty pack, but there is a slot for a screw and a ball cup to hold the backside of the battery. these leaves open air behind the lipo to run a esc with a fan and no battery strap to interfear.

I plan to run thumb screws, and the slot will get a screw and ball cup.

The paint didn't turn out so well. I'm fine with it, a basher needs a basher body, right?

I have a set of original decals coming for it as well.

Decals and trim tape do a LOT to help a not-so-good paint job. Use the trim tape around the window edges, so it looks like rubber molding, or silver like stainless trim. I've painted a lot of bodies, and trim tape does wonders.

Thanks. The adhesive stayed on the window area so I'm going to try and get it off as well.

I put the ESC in today. The 15t motor was pretty good on the 7cell NIMH pack. But the stock motor on 3s lipo was a blast! (Until it smoked the motor!).

I'm going to order a smaller pinion gear to see how it does. I've got 48p 56/16 stock, right? How does a 13t pinion sound?

That's a large jump on pinion teeth.
