8.4v and 15t in the grass. And I wiped out a transmission gear.

Maybe this will help. It's all I've found so far.

Tower has idler gear sets for $5.39, and are offering free shipping on most of their Associated parts. I'm not sure how long that will last.
The older I get, the faster I was.

No stealth, I'm going to leave this poor car in its current configuration and not drill holes in it.

Thanks for the tip on Tower. Just ordered a set. I tried to order two, but it said if would be backordered.

I've thought about buying a backup transmission.

Would something like this work?

Yeah that's the same one. Not a bad price from what I've seen.

For the transmission issue you can cut down the outdrives and use them for idler gears. This will eliminate the issue with the idlers being the weak link.

Interesting, I doubt I have the machinery to do a really nice job on something that small.

I was also looking at this one:

I may just put my original white plastic model back together with the tower hobbies gears and pick up one of these off eBay to beat on .

I know you don't want to drill your chassis, but really, just buy a used Stealth and borrow a drill template from someone. It's light years ahead of the old six-gear.

I know you are right. I'm just going to buy another buggy for beating on and save this one for more of a "light duty" runner.

This is exactly how I went from 1 RC10 to 8 in less than 2 weeks.
