Here's a little teaser for my upcoming Worlds rerelease build. The car will be here tomorrow, but I still have a number of things to get before I'll be able to run it. Hoping to have it built and running by April. I'm building it to...
The RC10 Worlds Car rerelease (especially NIB) has skyrocketed in terms of collectibility if one uses price as a good measure. 1200 and 2450 USD were the most recent sales for NIB kits on ebay. That's no joke...and I don't think it is going back...

I'm not surprised. As Gen X gets a little older, we're looking at the things from our past that we had, or wish we had, and are in a place to afford a little nostalgia. RC was huge in the 80's and 90's, so there's a bunch of us. The funny thing is,...
Thinking about upgrading the dogbones on my b4.2rs to CVAs, the MIP kit is a little more expensive than the FT kit, but just a few bux, anyone have a compelling reason to go with one versus the other? They look about the same as far as I can tell....
Way back when, MIP supplied the CVD driveshafts for Associated's kits. Now they all have what Associated calls CVAs which are simply CVD joints that have swapped between the axles and shafts (not that this is news to anyone).
So why the switch? Is...

Now this is just speculation on my part, but I believe that Associated is making their own CVA's now to cut down on cost. I'm sure they were paying MIP for the parts at a discounted price in bulk. So I'm assuming to avoid issues with MIP's design...
I think AE made a mistake in their manual with their CVD upgrade kit. The spacers (not included with the kit :? nor were the part #7364 hubs :? ) should go on the inside and not the outside or the dog bones fall right out.
It worked out OK on the...

The diagram is correct. The blue spacer is designed to keep the wheel from touching anything but the inner race of the bearing when the nut is tightened. Yes, it may be too thick and cause issues if your right height is set too high in the rear, but...
Hi , the first (and last?) rerelease from AE is not a 6010 or a Worldcar, but a T3 RTR ...
Distribued and manufactured by Thundertiger (Europe only), it has the same specs as the T3: stealth tranny, front and rear aluminium parts...but it has...

I don't mind the metric hardware, it's just the fact that the over-all quality of AE stuff is going down the tubes that bothers me. And it is going down the tubes.
What re-release would be best for vintage racing? i need something thats durable and will work with todays electronics as well as tires.
thanks

Wow, no love for Tamiya on the track....
Tires make the biggest difference if you plan on putting ANY off road vehicle on a track. And this goes for Tamiya as well. If you can find a way to get modern rubber on any of the re-re's they will be much...
I am pretty excited. First new RC purchase in about 10 yrs. I ordered a Rerelease Grasshopper for my 10yr old son for Xmas. (Notice how I stopped buying RC stuff about 10yrs ago AND I have a 10yr old son? LOL)
I wanted a good solid beginner kit...

Good points! I guess I'll start looking for another Hopper or Hornet. I'm glad I bought his brand new since it's a gift, but I'll look around for a beater on the bay and craigslist. Do you guys realize how much I'm kicking myself right now for...
