Ugly 10

Post by Tamlok »

Using spare/extra parts to put together a runner, no themes here. Going to use it to experiment with some mods (cut down tub, etc). She wont be pretty, but should run with the best of them.

You got a lot of the essential parts. Those front arm mounts are rather hard to find right now.

The #6208 (L&R) front arm mounts are what I'm having trouble finding. Out of stock everywhere I look. I only found some on eBay from Australia with high, really high shipping cost. By the way, my intentions are to dye the white ones black!

yes it sucks. it seems everything went all within a matter of 3-4 weeks. 3 weeks ago you could find almost anything, and now poof! gone.

I've heard they (associated) are just backlogged for stock, but who knows. i for sure hope that's true. even if it's slow resale or delayed profit, we all keep buying those parts, I'm sure they'd like the newer better products to sell first.

the interesting/weird thing is even the new old stock which would be seen on and off on ebay at sometimes ridiculous prices are gone as well. those front arm mounts were in stock at tower for a long time even before the re-release....I'm thinking all the guys holding that stock stopped selling as the market fell out with the re release parts flooding the market, and you will see them pop back up once it's determined if the production is in fact halted.

Anyone have experience with this front tower? It is a direct bolt on for use with truck shocks. It does not have holes for the nose brace tubes. How important is it that the front nose is braced? I am torn between drilling holes for the tubes or fabbing a brace.

even without the cut down sides, it's pretty important to use the nose tubes. that's weird I never noticed that that tower doesn't have nose brace tune holes.

JG Monster Truck front tower...some had cut outs for nose brace tubes but others were made for graphite chassis and didn't have the cut outs.

Hrm, think I have one in the box. I'll have to see if mine has tube holes...

Almost there. Need to install ESC and motor, going with a Speed Passion Reventon S and 17.5 to match my Worlds Car.
