Another RC10T Refurb - Kit# 7001!

Post by n20capri »

Recently dug out my collection...intro thread here if you haven't seen (also have some Kyosho stuff)
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=36684
(RC10 Pan car refurb thread in sig)

So back in the day I used to have an RC10 that had all the Hot Trick Stuff parts...the car was so awesome - it was fast and I used to win all the time...sold that to my neighbor to get the truck...Wish I still had it but I don't regret it because I LOVE the truck.

It's been 20+ years since it's seen the light of day! - I got some new batteries and a charger and everything still works as it should! Pretty cool. With that being said on to the pics. No mods for now other than rebuilding the ball diff and adding B4 slipper components!

She's grimy for sure!

LOTTA PARTS!

Shocks apart!

Got the rebuild kit but ended up having to use the stock round clip thingy as the new one wouldn't "click" into place...

Box is filled with wheels and tires!

Some old pics from back when we used to race...
The "T" and 2 Lazer ZX's

An even earlier pic with My old Hot Trick RC10 bottom right and dad's RC10 top (his was later converted to a pan car - as seen now in the thread in my sig)
The other 2 are Turbo Optima Mids prior to the Lazers - still have the bottom one!

More pics to come. Enjoy.

The new shock rebuild kit will clip in! You just have to make sure you remove all the mold tab burrs. It is better to even cut off a small bit of the part along with the burr. There are two burrs on each part! The new rebuild kit uses Teflon and is much better than the old plastic.

Cool truck btw!

Yeah I was having issues too...had to unload and reload a couple times...ended up just using the old clips...

They turned out awesome. The Hot Trick Stuff collars! Love it!

Overall I'm super happy. She runs real good. Rebuilt the motor, new connectors, dialed in the esc's and she's good to go. No more cut out's - rebuilt shocks made a hug difference. For now this body will do - Will mostly likely do up a box art body when I get done my Kyosho projects.

This was super fun...hope ya'll enjoyed it too!
