Some comparison pics.--there are three versions for the 3-hole thick tower, only the last is shown, with a lower hole ball stud mount. A center stud, a dual stud tower exists.

One more detail on Mark's truck... The battery brace isn't carbon fiber. It's a standard AE fiberglass brace, with a carbon fiber decal. He used the stuff below. If you look closely around the edges, you can see spots were the decal started to peel.

I don't remember anything specific about the towers on that truck. I'm sure they would have been the thick 3-hole front and 4-hole rear versions though. The Winterchamps was always in February, so early '94. The '94 Nationals was when we started using the new towers and brackets, discussed in the other thread. I would bet those were just dyed black, and drilled. The rear tower looks extra thick though.

I don't know. With those holes drilled fairly close to the bulkhead/mounting area, a single tower was probably a little flexy. The front tower wouldn't have near as much stress on it (shocks in the center and no body mounts), so a little flex in the front tower probably didn't matter.

Dear friends,

excuse my long silence but my children visited me this weekend and I see them only all 2 weeks so all time I have is for them. In the meantime I did some work on Brads decal and I think it will become nice when it`s ready. I`ll post my first try later this evening at my thread. I`ve done also some CAD work for the front tower. I used my thick 3 hole front tower (see picture) which is different to those from "marlo" and "DaveM". Thank you very much at this point for your help! I`m not really happy because some dimensions seems not correct. Let`s see what you think about it. On the way are a re-re worlds chassis and black thick webbed front and rear arms. They cost me a lot but I had to have them :-) I`ve taken also a picture from my black rear tower from the same angle as pictured in the RCCA magazine. What do you think about the thickness? I´m not sure at the moment. Do you also share Brads idea about the dyed rear towers? Difficult question, I know.

Thank you also Brad for the information about the Ceet carbon fibre decal. I hope I will be able to get something similar. More headache causes the long battery strap. Were they available regularely or
are they made only by team drivers?

"Brandon G" cleared the next detail :D GREAT

Hope you all keep on following my build. Your feedback is so much help, thank you very much!

All the best
Raimund

the new TUF decal looks great. for the shock towers i would agree with what brad and you said, about dying a set. the battery strap looks like the associated #7325 7-cell battery strap.

This truck looks like it was stuck in the middle of development, a bit of a hodge-podge really.

This is the type of truck I love, hopefully someone still has it.

You beat me to it. I also did some work on the decal, and checked the size as well.
The large decal I started with is eight inches across (total width, not the text). I shrank it to five inches, and the fit looks pretty good.
