Hmm, if I had no pre-planned on surface to run it I would probably pick up a set of Proline Dirthawgs for it as well as some indestructible RPM arms, the white ones if they do break could be hard to replaceJimbo302 wrote:I can't help but agree with you. It's back together with the 550 motor, 3S, and 2.4 tx/rx.
It is a great little all white plastic runner. I need to find some rear tires to run other than the pro line dirt grips, though.

The bell cranks are in the wrong position, too far back.
Cheers, Dave.
That's why I was thinking about getting long turnbuckles and mounting the servo upfront, eliminating the bellcrank.
The bellcranks are rc10 and the suspension is mounted far forward on the chassis, causing that issue.

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
I think I have a set of those on traxxas wheels. I wonder if they fit the 3 piece wheels.clm wrote:

I'll probably go easy on it until I can replace the arms.

I have a set of Dirthawgs on 10t 3 piece rims... and.. they pull out after a bit of running. Although I am just running an old brushed setup so I imagine a brushless setup would fling them off very quickly. You might be able to get by with gluing them to the inner sleeve of the 3 piece and then bolting the inner and out half on to keep it looking clean?
Edit: They are Proline Dirtworks tires.... on Associated 10t rims... on my XXT. But still the Dirthawgs would have the same issue.

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
Mine is brushed as well, but runs on 3S lipo, so it can spin them pretty hard. I think I would just convert to a newer wheel before I glue my 3 piece wheels.clm wrote: I have a set of Dirthawgs on 10t 3 piece rims... and.. they pull out after a bit of running. Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
I guess I need to find some front tires for this thing. I was thinking about buggy wheels, but I already have this set of wheels. I might as well figure out what tire to run on the front of them.

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
With as aggressive as those rears are... what about just another pair of them for the front?

I decided to put the #7001 10T back on the shelf, so it got a quick cleanup, original tires and wheels, and some period correct electronics.

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
Looks good! Although technically the servo is not mounted correctly for a stock 7001 Rc10t

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
Here is a pic of the servo part of the manual.. it works either way really, I imagine though they did it like this because of the longer arm of the servo saver perhaps? Mounting the ball at the end likely gives it much more leverage on the larger wheels? *shrug* Leverage is meaningless on a shelfer
Just picking at nits... Looks great though

Re: Jimbo302's Trucks
Thanks. Yeah, it'll probably stay as it is. It works great that way. I still have it set up to run with all the Futaba components and a 15T motor and the stock white spur gear back on. It will get brought down to run once in a while. I had it on 2S lipo yeasterday with this setup, it worked pretty good.
