Unless the diameter of them is too larger to fit in the chassis slots. They ran 900-1000 mah cells back then. I would assume they wouldn't be as large as a 2200.

Well I race with Gary weekly
Might still have the car
Might even see if he can come on here and check out

That would be cool. I haven't started the build yet, still collecting parts.

Ok so i've started small with building the receiver pac.
I know that I wouldn't be able to find vintage Sanyo cells.
So I have sourced modern cells wich works well as i am to shrink wrap them later on. They are only for show anyways.

As for the main cells i have found 4/5 subC 1.2V 1800mAh cells on A-express.. Awaiting delivery.

Hey guys! Need your help/input on this one.
I have studied the front bumpers that were used on some of the insane speed cars and it looks like they are mounted between the front end and chassis plate.. Was this to get more caster or do you think that the bumper goes all the way back and works as additional spacer?

I encountered a bit of a snag with this build.
The car has the SS rear pod (200mm) and as I’m using narrow TRC pro lite wheels I had to use the-10L rear axle, but didn’t understand that I have to use -10L right hub (AE original in pic)
There was no chance to shim it out as far as necessary to obtain 200mm with the SS right hub.
Found the correct “HPI hub” on the bay. Waiting delivery....

I don't think you're supposed to be at 200mm with those rears. The wheels are under 1.5" wide right?

Interesting! I want to learn more Phin. The wheels are 1.2” wide.
I have 185mm at the front.
When looking at Hamiltons and McGregors cars from -92 and -94 there is a huge difference at the rear when it comes to pacers.

Narrower tires only decreases the track width by half of the decrease in overall width. On the other hand increasing the axle width will increase track width and overall width by the same amount.

So getting back to the same track width only requires widening the axle widths by half of what you narrowed the tires by...and would still result in a narrower overall width (under 200mm). Putting the car back to 200mm overall width, with narrower tires, would result in an increased track width than you had with wider tires....

...and it only occurred to me while typing that that it could be the ISR cars actually meant to increase the track width that way. :?
