Post by davidka »

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. I got bitten by the ol' RC10 bug (again...) and picked up a Team car. I think I'd like to change to B4 rear hubs or Losi xxxcr hubs (to gain ball-stud height adjustment, is this blasphemy?) to allow use of my current 2.2 wheels and keep the correct width with stock arms. Will B4 rear cvd's work or will they still be too long? I think it may be close.

I've been through the pages on this thread but nowhere is there a clear explanation of how to use current offset 2.2's with the stock rear arms. Any help would be appreciated.

THESE HPI Adapters

The "red" ones are a direct fit to the 1/4" axles, BUT you have to sand down or cut off the part circled yellow (for buggy rims and non HPI truck rims)

If you combine the "blue" ones meant for Losi with the 3/16" axles you also gain about 4.2mm of offset per side which is a bit more than 5/32".

I hope this helps some of you guys.
That's what I'm planning, going to run these wheels:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000106227&I=LXNUF6&P=K
There are a set of 3/8" OD to 11mm OD adapters in this set:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000106227&I=LXN055&P=K

I need new wheels anyway, this way I can save $12-16 on dogbones or 3/16"CVD axles, and I use them on more than just the RC10. It says the fronts are wide enough for Dirt Hawgs, only problem is those aren't in stock right now.

So, does the B3 cvd kit have the same basic dimensions and fit as the B2 kit? Meaning it would work on an old RC10 just as well as the B2 cvd kit?

Yes. It will work with the RC10 , B2 and B3 provided you have the 3/16 bearings in your hubs.

What's the difference between the B2/B3 CVD and the B44 rear CVD
I have seen a few cars with those B44 CVd's

b44 rear cvd's are quite a bit longer than a b2-b3. b44 fronts are even longer.

I went with the Nitro Evader BX wheels, and the rears don't fit over the 3/16" axles. I can force them on about 1/8" and then it's stuck fast. Grrr. The Tamiya wheels are back in stock at Tower, I guess these are going back and I'm getting those.

I'm impatient, and they are $4 wheels, so I put them on my drill press and ran a #13, then a 3/16", and then a #12 drill bit through them. That did the trick. I was hesitant at first, but they spin about as true as they were probably going to in the first place. Now I have to either trim the inner bead off the wheel or narrow the bead on the Dirt Hawg tire.

Those Duratrax wheels will crack, I found that Kyosho wheels fit perfect part UM414. They are almost an exact copy of a Proline B3 wheel, which is what you are looking for essentially.

I know the web site says they are sold out, but I called them on their 800 number and they sent me 2 sets. $7 a pair so get at least 3 pair to offset the shipping charges! It's a little more for these wheels, but trust me I've had the same 2 pair for over a year and they are great.

On a 10T you can just use T4 wheels.
