Super fun kit! Build the steering before you install the upper deck. It's a real pita later plus it binds so it's nice to be able to free it up before the stupid undertray blocks access

That's very cool, Dan. I love how small it is...but I'm going the opposite route with a project, I'm in the planning stages of building a compact arcade cabinet...I want it as small as possible, but still be big enough to have two joysticks and at least a dozen buttons, because some of my favorite games as a teen were Williams games like Defender, Stargate and Robotron. They're fun to play on my computer with MAME and a gamepad-type controller, but it's just not the same as playing on arcade-style controllers and big buttons.

I have a tiny laptop, the biggest 4:3 LCD monitor I could find (old 19" Dell) and all the wood...just need the budget to buy the controls and a USB interface for the controls-to-laptop, then the construction can begin.
Completed projects: CYANide | Zebra Optima | Barney | OptiMutt
Current projects: 'Red Tide' Lucas Agitator

my bother in law has a legit arcade in his basement with vintage cabinets. i don't have any where near the room he has.
I restore all his console systems when they need TLC and he has a vendor that takes care of all his cabinets and pinball machines.
a couple of years ago he asked me to build an all in one m.a.m.e cabinet then he changed his mind and figured why emulate the game just get the real one as there are differences caused by emulation.

so he went big, and i got bored and went small. i'm still messing with it, the rasp is very impressive on its own.

the old skool case is cute but not practical.

I'm switching it out for another larger Super NES case that has a Cooling fan built in and better access to the USB ports.

Wow! Those are really cool. It's amazing that some of this stuff is still out there new in the box after all these years.
