So she's all legal now. Gonna take it to a cruise night on friday after work, then it's firts show up at the old Pocono Drag Lodge on Saturday.

It gets up and goes. Big motor in a fairly light car. 8)

I finally started getting the 72 442 painted. Did the body, trunk lid and 1/4 extensions. I'll move on to the doors and some of the smaller pieces next.

Painted on Friday:

Sanded and polished yesterday:

Put the trunk lid and extensions on and rolled it out in the sun to check it out today:

Beautiful work, as usual. I've always liked the 442 in blue, especially with the white top, stripes and such.

Got the front end sheet metal and grill pieces for the 72 442 painted and polished this past weekend. Thankfully it's all done now. Gonna take a short break on it for now and get back on the 70 Chevelle for a bit.

I also saw the other day that the 67 442 convertible we built a decade or so ago is up on ebay for sale.

The 68 Olds 442 convertible we built for Paul Teutul Sr. a couple years ago is up on ebay now too. Seems like he's cleaning house, as this guy has bought a handful from him.

Had a repair job in the shop the last couple weeks. Working it in around getting the new floors welded in the Chevelle.

We did some work on this 33 Chevy almost 15 years ago. The owner started it but realized he would never be able to make it as nice as he wanted it. So we did the finish body work and paint to the body shell, doors, hood and trunk lid. A month or so ago the owner and his son took it out for a ride. The door was not latched all the way and his son somehow hit the handle when reaching to pull it shut. It has suicide doors, so the wind grabbed it and whipped it back into the quarter panel. It didn't do a ton of damage, but it was bad enough. You can see where the door hit the beading and pushed the quarter in. it also separated the outer door skin from the inner structure and cracked the sheet metal around the hinges.

So got the metal work all straightened out, and got the door fit and working properly again. Moved on to the filler work, and then some polyester primer (basically high build sprayable bondo) then got it all blocked out and ready for final primer.
IMG_20161127_105802220.jpg
Then it was on to prep the body and shoot some paint.

And after a quick sanding/polishing this morning, got it all back together.

Looks so easy when you only see 7 pictures and it's perfect looking again.
