I received a new Trinity Speed Gems 19x1 Pro Spec brushed motor. It is from a limited run of under 100 motors. Chris at Trinity signed the packaging slip, and added a note saying that it was a very short limited run of these motors.

Buying parts for a car you don't own doesn't sound as good as starting a new build with some fresh shiny parts. lol. It's all how you look at it.

Some old school coolness... a Cox Ferrari 512BB.
It's been run, but is in pretty decent condition. Seems to be very original, except for the alloy rear wheels and rear Bolink tires.
Has the original servos, receiver, and battery holder, but is missing the controller.
As MrLexan pointed out quite a while ago on a post on TamiyaClub on this same model, the paint seems to be generic, as in not made for lexan, and it flakes right off with just a fingernail. Trying to decide if I leave it with the original flaking paint, or remove it and make it pretty with modern paint. Opinions?
It will likely be a shelfer, not a runner.

Pretty excited to finally have a nib 12e in the collection.
This one was an interesting spec, with the hollow axle and two hole chassis as well as both shaker plates included.

Also finally found some info on the Group 12. There isn't much there, but there isn't much info I've found either.

Nice pickup!

Yup it's very mini-z-ish and I think their motors would swap right in.

Buying parts for a car you don't own because you may want to start a project based on it since you "already have some parts...somewhere", then once the project gets started discovering the "already owned" part that started the buying spree is nowhere to be found.

AKA the story of my Kyosho Impress.

Then you re-buy that part (and I bet I'll come across the "lost" one later when I clean up my hobby room...).

Well, it's been a few weeks since we've seen any updates, so thought I'd throw some through!

Last couple of days have been very productive, with a couple of great lots coming in....

First lot was a big bag of Tamiya Mini bits. Included was a heap of parts for the M03, as well as a bunch of upgrades, extras, and NIP parts. Ball diffs, diff outdrives, alloy lower arms..... and a pile of used but usable extras. Some M01/M02 bits as well, which were greatly accepted. Sorry, no pictures.... this lot has already been assimilated with the Borg-like pile that is all my Mini stuff...

Second was a double lot... a new built Tamiya FF01 Renault Clio Williams, and a couple of Alex Racing Barracuda touring car chassis'.

The FF01 first.... what a sweet example of the breed! Brand new, and complete with heaps of upgrades, and an unpainted body and decals. For completeness (as the collectors like), also included a manual, spare parts, original parts, and the box. The only way you'd get better is to build it yourself, from a NIB it!!!

Now the Alex Racing tourers.... two chassis, one complete and brand new, made from the best unused parts.... full pink anodising, and just so expensive-looking!!!! Came with an indecipherable manual, and a box.... shelf-worthy if ever I've seen one! Second car, while not quite complete, is almost there.... and here, the anodising is green! This one has been used, but has a new in pack lower chassis plate to add, and a pile of parts to put back on it.

Even better, each chassis came with a colour-matched motor!

I am going to be busy, working out what to do with these!!!

Today's haul is , a complete Ayk Sidewinder , a complete Ayk Bobcat and a complete Midnight Pumpkin .
The two Ayk cars are in superb condition , obviously used but lightly one has a single broken part on the front suspension and the other a little play in the front steering , both faults are easily solved , I stripped the gearboxes and they both look in very good shape and no noticeable wear .
These were an eBay purchase justified to the wife by saying I'd only keep one (not the pumpkin obviously ) , I was originally planning on keeping the sidewinder and selling the bobcat but now I'm not so sure ...... They both look so nice .
Either way they are all three getting a thorough clean up before I decide what gets sold , I'll pop up some pictures tomorrow and start a refurb thread soon.
I feel just like a kid at Christmas :D
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
