Is there a connection between MRP and Tamiya? Reason I ask is that my first RC car was the Sand Scorcher. I bought it from the Tower Hobbies catalog when they were first released in ’79 or maybe it was ’80 – not sure. Anyway, from the catalog info, I thought it was manufactured by MRP but when it arrived, it was clear that it came from Tamiya. Is there a connection or am I hallucinating - again.

MRP was Model Racing Products, and no relation to TamiyaXLR8 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:03 pm Is there a connection between MRP and Tamiya? Reason I ask is that my first RC car was the Sand Scorcher. MRC was/is Model Rectifier Corp. and was the importer for Tamiya back in the day

Finally found the item I've been looking for almost a year and it's still unopened! Thanks to the always vigilant aip47-2008 for his heads up.

I believe this is the first time I've ever posted anything in this thread, really excited but not sure I want to open it up.
