I guess I should say Hi after being here for a year or so , what do I do for a living , well currently I'm a van driver while I think of a new occupation , I spent the last 20 years as a motor mechanic however due to damaged knees I'm no longer able to carry on , never been a management type so I'm looking for a re boot in another direction .
I'm 47 years old ,married and have 4 children and three dogs .
I started with RC cars when I was 11 years old , more recently started flying rc helicopters then back to cars again .
My other major hobby is WW2 airsoft renactment but due to my knees I'm not as active as I was .
I live in a village just outside Guildford England , it's a town 30 miles south of London .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.

Hi, Im Charlie. I have been into RC since 1986 with my first car, the Tamiya Frog. I didn't start racing until 1996 with my XXT. Since then, I have announced races as well as host my own races for 21 years. I also have been painting RC cars for 21 years. I have my Bachelors degree in Media Arts and Animation and have taught Life Drawing classes, Photoshop and Illustrator classes as well as RC Airbrushing classes. I had a website that catered to ONLY RC Painting with videos, tutorials, and contests for RC Painting and had over 5000 members. After a few times of getting hacked, i decided to take a break especially since the site was FREE for membership and was just taking too much time to maintain. I still Run races and own my won permanent Onroad track in California and has been there since 2010. I also still paint for customers but very limited since the Custom Paintjob customers are less popular than regular race schemed jobs that most painters can do for very reasonable prices. Onroad is not very big in the US and neither is Custom Airbrushed and themed paintjobs so to keep doing what i love, i got work at a local RC manufacturer to have consistent paychecks as well as insurance. Sometimes, to keep something you have passion for, you need to make sacrifices. I don't consider my "3rd" job a sacrifice, just another way to enhance what i really love doing. Overal, im rateful to be part of an industry i love and hobby i have done since i was a kid. My other hobbies are Mountain Biking, Fitness, and tracking full size cars.

They had a lipo fire in the garage a few years back, most of the RC stuff was destroyed, including (I believe) the JRX prototypes...

Well here goes nothing:

Jolon C.
41
Sales Analyst
Engaged, no children (yet  )

Currently reside in Toronto Canada. Was referred to this website after selling my entire r/c collection on the bay that I found in a box in my fathers basement during my early 20’s (still kicking myself). I couldn’t believe how much some of it went for and messaged one of the new owners who sent me here and the rest is history. A Marui Big Bear started it all, Santa dropped that off and my father helped me build it; I was hooked. Lived and breathed everything RC and had dozens of Car Action magazines that I read and reread daily. A move to Hong Kong as a kid introduced me to Yokomo’s and I have been in love with them ever since.

Then:
Marui Big Bear
Tamiya Hotshot
Tamiya Avante / Avante 2000
Kyosho Burns
RC10T (with the moo paint job of course)
91 Yokomo YZ10 (x2)
Bunch of others I bought and sold (Hornet, Ultima 2, Clodbuster...)

Currently:
RC10T
RC10GT (undergoing restoration)
Yokomo 870
91 Yokomo (still in pieces)
93 Yokomo
Pavidis Yokomo (still in pieces)
Kyosho Inferno (undergoing restoration)

I also have an unhealthy addiction to Porsche 928’s and play ice hockey, something I picked up when I moved to Toronto.

I come for the RC10's but stay for the Yokomo's :P

Current projects:

1994 Yokomo Box-Art
RC10GT Restoration
