Before I buy anything else I am going to mess with the junk I have, which is just way too much anyways lol. I know a little bit about the processes to harden, temper, and anneal steel but if anyone is wondering, basically you want to heat red, quench, heat slow but not red, and let air cool.

I'm going to mess with some old parts and different temperatures if I can just find my Rockwell file set.

I talked to an engineer at MIP today. He assured me the shafts are heat treated, after throwing ideas back and forth we came to the conclusion that booting the CVD cup and packing it with grease will remove some of the lash, or slop. I was also reminded that these shafts weren't designed to do what I'm doing so if I get stupid even once with the trigger finger I can explode this thing. Lol

Added some boots packed with MIP grease.

Wind kept me from running it today. Maybe after work tomorrow if conditions are good.

I am not able to get the range I need from my MT-4 to exceed 80mph. I can't grab full throttle before I have to shut it down. I tried and spun off the road.

Anyone got any ideas on how to get more the 550 feet of range in each direction?

I've popped off a few ends of MIP driveshafts. Good luck...

Doing a lot of research on radios...I can't believe the limitations of 2.4 on the ground. How is 500 feet or so line of sight? I can see a 1/10 scale at 1000 feet, maybe not for jumping but for direction of travel.

What can I do to get just enough range to get more run up time?

Just remember that I dont have the weight to stab the throttle it will spin, to slow it down (2wd) I basically use drag brake set to 30%, any more and she pirouettes 360s down the runway. I need distance to attain 100% throttle and that 100% needs to be held ~2.5-3 seconds to achieve a 42,000rpm spool up under load.

I could always drive behind it  jokin

I think the futaba radios (4PL?) had the best range of 1000 feet or there abouts. The last time I was researching radios I found a shootout online, by RCCA or big squid or someone. A bit vague I know, but I rarely drive further than 100 ft away, and my Spectrum works fine for that (it had the shortest range, around 500 ft).

I've been wondering if switching back to an old Airtronics or Futaba 74mhz setup I have laying around would increase the range by much. Instead though, I think I have a solution in the form of a 23' 200lb A-frame fiberglass ladder...Wow this is getting ridiculous.

Maybe this is far past ridiculous already :?:

I purchased a High downforce wing kit and started playing...

All done. It is completely adjustable. I can slide it forward and back, also tilt it up and down.

Tomorrow I am tearing down and going over it all again. The rear diff is very loose again. I think I'll open it up and fill it with RTV.
