I had the one way initially locked down but by the start of the third qualifier it had backed all the way off. With its lack of tight low speed steering, it worked out well for me by simply using a little brake to get the ass end to rotate around. I got faster with it as I spent more time driving.

R/Cat, I am not bailing on the Lazer. I have run it twice at 2 different VONATS and am just looking at other options. Heck, I used to build new (for me) cars to each VONATS I went to. I just don't have the time to do that any more.

Driving Marks XX4 was fun! It showed me where some of the Lazer's weak points are. Not that they can't get fixed. I need to see if some of the newer Lazer front end parts will fit on it. Make it easier to get wheels that don't narrow the front end too much. Make the steering have more throw too.

R/cat it is up to you on whether to get the regular or worlds edition. Technically the worlds edition is a later release and doesn't qualify under the rules, but the differences between the two are negligible performance wise. Enough so that I don't think anybody would care which you run.

Hey guys question about disqualifiers for the Vonats. If a 4wd car originally came chain drive and was modified to run belts as well as run modern arms and hubs....would that be a disqualifier for the car. FYI car originally manufactured around 1987.

Hey guys. I'm so glad you all had a great time. It was awesome to see you all again this year! I just posted the results on the site and will be working on a gallery page in an upcoming overhaul. The site wasn't really what I wanted but was enough to at least get it going. Keep an eye out for me and for now check out our FB page as well.

hey dudes

We just had our Vintage festival in Sydney, Australia, please checkout this link http://www.rctech.net/forum/australian-events/794799-2014-vintage-festival-castle-hill-off-road-september-27-28-a-22.html the last few pages have some great photos and links to more photos and vids of the racing, we had 22 entrants in our 2wd 540 class which was a record for our event and 20 in 4wd, plus we had open classes and novelty classes over the weekend.

cheers

Mikey

It was great, no doubt and nice meeting you for the first time also. I'm sure coordinating such an event is a massive undertaking but well worth it for sure. I guess the fact that you're starting to get a couple of pro drivers to participate says it all. It might be a bit early to ask but any idea where next years event will be held?

Ok, thanks. Staying at the indoor facility in Waterbury or heading back to Bethel outside?
