Hailing from Portlandia

Post by Turkbot »

Hi there.

Been lurking here for a couple of months.... I am a Brit living in PDX. Been messing with RC stuff from a a young age. I bought a used Marui Ninja at a yard sale for about $10 and took that racing! Used a coat hanger as the propshaft and a soda bottle as a body! Fun times :)

First real car was a Schumacher Club10 Storm. I loved that thing.. so simple...

A while back I brought my old cars back over from England and started fixing them up... so I have:

RC10B4 - my last actual race car! I still race this at Premiere/503 and get my fair share of jibes ;)
RC10B3 - roller
RC10 Worlds (rere) - this is my basher, I did stick a gold pan on it :)
RC10 A stamp (craigslist find) in process of fixing up as a short arm basher
Avante 2001 - in process of fixing up for gentle use!
Schumacher Big6 EP actually I have 2 of these. 1 I brought over from England that I have had for ever and the other I got so I can bash around with a friend.... They are all fixed up and ready to go!! Need to find a space big enough to use them...

Running Airtronics radio gear all around, 2x Airtronics MT-4 controllers
Core-RC shorty LiPos (2S 4000mAh)
Big6 cars - Castle Creations Sidewinder 3 and 4600kv motors
B4/worlds HobbywingXR10/TekinGen3 17.5
A-stamp has the castle creations sidewinder SCT 3800kV ready to be put in once the rest of the car is done.
Avante TBC... prob some Associated stuff based on their exchange program!

I think that sums up where I am right now...

I can't really race at weekends but I am up for some midweek bashing, it is a real shame Premiere/503 is being forced out of their building :(

So anyhow. I am here, I look forward to posting a few pictures, asking a few questions and hopefully even answering a few...

Welcome! Nice to see another local  I hadn't heard about premier, but I hated their location so hopefully it allows Casey to find a better spot 8)

Cheers for the welcome. Premiere was fun. I live about 5 mins away so it was super convenient!!

Not holding out hope they will be able to find a permanent location in PDX... prob be a weekend "pop up" track type thing. Hope it works out for them, it is a fun group!
